An important part of PBL is audience feedback and comments (评论).
PBL can fit into any subject area. In social studies, for example, students can research the history and culture of their community, exploring a festival for the community, which includes traditional costumes, food, art, and music.
In maths, students can make a quilt (被子) with symbols of their community’s heritage. This project joins knowledge of geometry, art, and history together. In language arts, students could team up with a school from a different culture. First of all, they could exchange information through a class website. Then they could pack items that represent their school or culture. Students would give a description of each item and why it is relevant. Finally, the students could exchange the packages through the mainland ask follow-up questions about the items they received.
In science, students could research plants, and they could use their findings to build a habitat (栖息地) in the school garden. This may include removing weeds, adding plants to attract butterflies, and building bird feeders.
An important part of PBL is that failure is understood to be a basic part of the learning process. One of the goals of PBL is to make efforts productively and work through problems. All schools and educators should accept PBL!

Skipping to victory
Zhou Qi is a 17-year-old student from Hangzhou. Zhejiang. Last September he broke the Guinness (吉尼斯) World Record for the most single skips in one minute, with a result of 374. The record had stood unbroken for ten years. Daisuke Mimura from Japan held it with 348 skips in 2013.
Interestingly, Zhou’s new record is not even his personal best. “My best performance was 396 times in one minute. Guarding the Blue Planet
Liu loves to teach people to explore the underwater world and lead them to feel the beauty of the sea. Now, he devotes himself to the voluntary work in a community called Better Blue. To protect this rare animal and its ecological environment, the Liaoning Dalian Spotted Seal Wetlands were set up in 1992. In January 2002, they were included in the List of Wetlands of International Importance. Covering an area of 560,000 hectares with a coastline of about 370 kilometers, the wetlands are rich in biological resources. They have become home to nationally protected animals such as the spotted seal, finless porpoise, killer whales, false killer whales, common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and East Asian river dolphins.

Chinese shadow puppetry (皮影戏) is a form of traditional Chinese folk drama. It is probably one of the most ancient arts using light and shadow. More than 2,000 years ago, Emperor Wu of Han was very sad about the death of his wife. One day, one of his men happened to see some children playing with toys. Karlsson, a Swedish teacher at Beijing Union University (BUU), has lived in China for over 15 years. The seeds (种子) of his China journey were sown when he joined in a program for East Asian studies at Lund University in Sweden in 1997.
