When I returned his wallet, he tried to give me 30 dollars. I told him, “No, thanks. Just help

Everyone has different ways of letting their kids do housework. Here are some ideas that I
think would work.
Start young. Of course, when your kids are babies, let them see how you do housework. It
might help.
Start from easy housework. You can give them some easy housework to do, like washing
vegetables and taking out the rubbish. And when they do a good job, you can give them some
candies or small gifts.
Do the housework together. Let them help while you're folding clothes. They can pass you the
clothes. And maybe they can fold one or two of them.

How to Keep Healthy
Nowadays, students have too much pressure. On the one hand, they have too much
homework at school. On the other hand, they must take too many after-school classes on
weekends. Facing so much pressure, students can do as follows to keep physical and mental
health.
Outside school, they can choose to do some volunteer work to make their after-school
life colorful. First, it’s relaxing and meaningful to give out food at the food bank. Second,
they can cheer up the sick kids in the hospital. When they see the children become happier,
they will get a strong feeling of satisfaction.
At home, they can share the housework such as taking out the rubbish and sweeping the
floor, which can make the house clean. Being in a clean environment will be helpful to keep
healthy.
In addition, there are other ways to keep healthy. If students feel stressed out, they can
talk to parents. Besides, they can hang out with friends to relax themselves. More importantly,
going to bed earlier instead of staying up late is a good habit they should have.
All in all, the healthier students are, the better grades they will get. So take action from
now on!

Technology is the best and worst thing that has ever happened to education. Compared to
the past, students are learning in a different way now because of the wide use of technology in
education.
One of the most important matters about technology and education is the way it has greatly
affected the tests. Students can take practice tests online. These tests give students grade instantly,
allowing them to know quickly what mistakes they have made. Teachers and parents can also see
the marks online. In this way, technology can provide a wonderful service.
Paper tests aren’t the only things that are becoming out-of-date (过时的) these days, either.
▲ They are cheaper. And students only need to bring a computer or e-book reader with then
without having to carry several pounds of books around. At the same time, taking notes with
computer is much easier and quicker. Also, e-mails allow teachers to communicate with parer
without asking for a face-to-face meeting.
Surely, technology has its bad points. Through the Internet, students can get the answer to a
maths problem easily. And they can send message answers or pictures of their homework to one
another online. Why would students learn hard if they had a “helper” to do it for them
Technology has changed education. Modern students teachers, and parents can’t work
without it. Therefore, how to make technology help education better has become a new subject.
( )46.What does the writer think of the wide use of technology in education
A. It is helpful.
B. It is a success.
C. It brings both good and bad.
( )47.What does “These” refer to in paragraph 2
A. Tests online. B. Paper tests. C. English tests.
( )48.Which sentence can be put in ________
A. E-books might be bad for their eyes.
B. E-books are not as good as paper books.
C. E-books are more popular than paper books.
( )49.According to the passage, technology has affected how students ________.
①take tests ②have classes ③take notes ④send messages
A. ①② B. ①③ C. ③④
( )50.What is the best title for the passage
A. Technology makes education better.

You’ve spent a lot of time studying how to use English in a proper way. But have you ever
wondered why English speakers say some of these things For example, why do they say “an easy
job” is “a piece of cake” 61
You may know many English words. But do you know where they come from 62
Sometimes these stories can help us look back into old western history. Let’s take a look at a
few of the common English words and phrases:
OK
“OK” was an American who lived in the 19th century. 63 In one year he was trying to take
the place of the leader of his town. His supporters(支持者 )went around the town shouting “OK!
OK”! The supporters thought their future leader was “all right”. And now if something is “ all
right”, people like to say “OK!”
Boss(老板)
64 If not, just be glad you weren’t living in the old times. At that time, bosses could do
anything bad to their men and could even beat them! That explains why the word “boss” comes
from an old German word which means “ to beat”.
A piece of cake
A famous American writer named Ogden Nash lived in the 1930s. Many readers enjoyed his
poems(诗歌) and wrote them down in their notebooks. In one of his poems, Nash wrote, “Her
picture is in the papers now, and life is a piece of cake.” 65 They thought that if one picture a
newspaper could make you famous, wouldn’t life be easy For nearly 70 years, “ a piece of cake”
has meant any job or activity that is easy.
A. Is your boss bad to you
B. His name was “Old Kinderhook”.
C. You may find they are very interesting.
D. There are some stories behind English words.
E. Why does the two-letter-word “OK” mean “all right”
F. His readers found these words interesting and quickly wrote them down.

Several years ago, a couple left their job and sold everything in their home to travel around
the world with their 13-year-old daughter. And the girl left school to travel with her parents. Will
you stop studying to travel like the girl Here are some students’ opinions.
Wang Le, 14, from Zhejiang:
I think it is a really good way to practice our communication skills by speaking English. If
we travel with our parents around the world, we have to talk to others, especially in English. And
there are not so many chances for that at school. So I think we should travel like them.
Zhang Qiwen, 14, from Jiangsu:
I will travel with my parents. Why do we study We go to school to learn more about the
world. If we have a better way to learn about it, why don’t we do it We can see lots of amazing
things when we travel around the world with our parents. Having classes at school is boring and
useless. I like traveling better.
Zhang Yuxi, 15, from Shanghai:
It is too dangerous to stop studying to travel. Our parents can’t make sure that they know
everything. There are lots of dangers in a completely strange environment. We can’t take a risk of
putting ourselves in danger. If we do, we’ll be really foolish.
Wang Quan, 14, from Beijing:
I think we have enough time to study at school as well as do some traveling. We need to
study at school because it makes sure that we won’t fall behind our peers (同龄人 ). And we can
also travel in the summer or winter holidays. It helps us to broaden our horizon (拓宽视野 ) and
learn things not in books. But I don’t think it is a good idea to stop studying to travel.
Will you stop studying to travel
Wang Le The school can’t give us many 67 to practice communicating in English.
Traveling is a better way to learn more
Zhang Qiwen about the world. Traveling is much more interesting and
68 than having classes at school.
Different
66 Zhang Yuxi 69 putting ourselves in danger will be really foolish.
Both studying and traveling are necessary.
Wang Quan We need to study at school. We can travel in
winter or summer holidays.
According to the passage, we can know that Wang Le and Zhang Qiwen 70 to stop
