There is a kind of beauty which only Chinese people understand, that is the traditional Chinese architecture (建筑). For thousands of years, different styles of traditional buildings remain, showing their beauty as the symbol of Chinese ancient culture. Today, I’ll introduce the following 3 typical styles.
Hui-style
The beauty of Hui-style architecture lies in the elegance (优雅). You can just imagine that you’re walking along the streets in Jiangnan. Hui-style is famous for its tall white walls and blue tiles (瓦). Another feature (特点) is Matou Walls that look like the head of horses. Hui-style’s wood structure may make it easy to catch fire, but Matou Walls can well prevent the fire from spreading around.
Min-style
Min is a name short for the Fujian Province. The beauty of Min architecture lies in the fact that the buildings are made from the earth. It makes this kind of buildings very strong, which can be used for protecting against earthquakes, wild animals and enemies. These buildings with 3 or 4 floors are so large that they can easily hold hundreds of people. Besides, the buildings are usually round, which best brings every family member together.
Jing-style
The beauty of Jing-style lies in its quadrangle yards with the separate houses on four sides. Their shapes are perfectly matched with one ancient Chinese idea “round sky and square earth”.

A.Matou Walls. B.Blue titles. C.White Walls. D.The wood structure.
2.What does the underlined word “quadrangle” mean in Chinese

D.The differences between Chinese traditional buildings and foreign ones.

根据“Hui-style’s wood structure may make it easy to catch fire, but Matou Walls can well prevent the fire from spreading around.”可知,马头墙(Matou Walls)可以很好地阻止火势蔓延。故选A。
2.词句猜测题。根据“The beauty of Jing-style lies in its quadrangle yards with the separate houses on four sides.”和“with the separate houses on four sides”(有四面独立的房子)可以推断出“quadrangle”是指有四面的形状。故选B。
3.推理判断题。 根据“the buildings are usually round”可知,闽派建筑(Min-style buildings)通常是圆的。

① Being able to land safely is a necessary skill for all flying animals. For animals living on the land, they face no special challenge when they need to stop running or crawling (moving forward slowly on their hands and knees), but for flying animals who move at much higher speeds, they must be careful about how they land. Hitting the ground, or even water, at full flight speed would be quite dangerous. Before touching down, they must reduce their speed in order to land safely.
② a Both bats and birds have mastered the skill of landing. In the past it was believed that there was little difference between bats and birds. This belief was based only on guessing, however, because for years nobody had actually studied how bats move their wings.
③ In recent years, though, researchers have discovered a number of interesting facts about bat flight. And as a result, they found that these two types of flyers go about it quite differently. b
④ Bats are built differently from birds, and their wings include their front and hind limbs (后肢). This makes their limbs work more difficult and they are not very good at flying over longer distances. c A bat can quickly change its direction of flight or completely change to the opposite, something bird cannot easily do.
⑤ Another interesting fact of bat flight is the way in which bats land—upside down! Unlike birds, which touch down on the ground or on tree branches, bats can be watched flying around and then suddenly hanging upside down.
⑥ How do they do it A group of researchers recently used video cameras to film bats landing on nets hung from the ceiling (天花板) of their lab, and they studied the records. d They painted on the bats’ wings to see in detail what happens to the wings in flight and during touchdown. It turns out that the bats flew in a straight line up to the net and then quickly turned over and make themselves upside down.
5.How does the writer develop the idea in Paragraph 1
A.By comparing differences. B.By telling a story.
C.By listing numbers. D.By explaining the result.
6.Where can we put the sentence “However, they are much better at controlling.”
A.a B.b C.c D.d
7.Which of the following in the dictionary can best explain the underlined word “records” in Paragraph 6
Record n. [C] records; v. [VT] recorded; recording 1. To make a copy of music, a film, etc. by sorting it on tape or a disc. 2. To keep facts or events by writing them down, filming them, sorting them, etc. 3. The best result or the highest or lowest level that has ever been reached. 4. A written thing that is kept so that it can be looked at and used in the future.
A.1 B.2 C.3 D.4

To shorten the gap between countries and the world, China started the “10,000 Villages” project. By 2023, the project had reached over 9,500 villages across 20 African countries, benefiting nearly 10 million people. Ten years has passed, more than ten thousand villagers achieve their dreams.

To help millions of Chinese live healthier lives, the government has started a three-year national plan (2024—2027) to control obesity (肥胖) which probably leads to serious illnesses like heart disease. Here are the key points everyone should know.
First, understanding your body is the starting point. Experts advise checking two numbers: BMI (Body Mass Index) and waist (腰) size. A healthy BMI is from 18.5 to 24. If your BMI is 24-28, you are overweight, and 28 or higher means obesity. For waistlines, men should stay under 90 cm and women under 85 cm. These numbers help people realize their health risks early.
Next, healthy eating plays a central role. The guidelines encourage whole grains (谷物) like brown rice, fresh vegetables, and proteins (蛋白质) such as fish or beans, while cutting down on fried foods, sugary snacks, salt, and oil. Besides, a simple trick during meals is to eat vegetables first, then meat, and finally rice. This order naturally reduces fat intake.
Exercise is also important. Adults need 150~300 minutes of activities like dancing or cycling weekly. Students who sit for long hours are advised to stretch (伸展) for 3-5 minutes every hour.
Daily habits matter more than you think. Teens should sleep at least 7 hours nightly, as poor sleep may make people feel hungry more easily.
________. In Shanghai schools, students now exercise two hours daily through morning runs and sports clubs. Hospitals in Beijing offer “weight management section,” connecting modern diet plans with traditional methods like acupuncture (针灸).
Small changes lead to big results. Changing from soda to water, choosing stairs over elevators, or walking to school can make a difference. Remember, healthy living isn’t about being perfect-It’s about starting somewhere.
21.What order of eating can help people take in less fat
A.meat→vegetables→rice B.rice→meat→vegetables
C.vegetables→meat→rice D.vegetables→rice→meat
22.Who is in good health according to the passage

When you picture a day of hiking with children, you probably imagine a magical place. But the truth is that hiking with children is not always all sunshine and roses. So start by knowing your child’s hiking limits (极限) to make sure of a successful and enjoyable hike that they’ll remember.
Start small. Hiking is fun but it can be hard work for small bodies. Just as you wouldn’t run a marathon without training, you can’t expect your child to hike a long trail (路径) the first time out. Start your kids hiking with a small nature trail, then each trip adds a little more distance.
Be flexible (可变通的). There is no rule that you must get to that waterfall. When hiking with kids, it’s about the journey, not the end. As adults, we easily become end-driven hikers, and that’s exactly what can make the hike less enjoyable for your child, who wants to explore and take their time.
Choose a kid-friendly destination (目的地). Your children might enjoy climbing over big stones more than sitting to admire a calm lake. Or running in a big open field might be more interesting than staring at a distant mountain when hiking with kids. Kid-friendly hikes will encourage more future hiking from your children.
▲ . Set a family goal with a reward for miles hiked over a period of time. You can make it over a vacation, or over the whole summer. Your hiking kids should help set the goal and then update the chart after each hike. Children love seeing their progress in full color.
One of the greatest gifts a parent can give their child is love and respect for nature. Those early hikes you take as a family set the stage for a lifetime of exploration and joy. So get out and start hiking with children as early as possible. And know it’s never too late!

26.推理判断题。根据第一段“So start by knowing your child’s hiking limits (极限) to make sure of a successful and enjoyable hike that they’ll remember.”可知,要先从了解孩子的徒步极限开始。因此可推知第一段的目的是引入主题。故选B。

①Cloisonne, or jingtailan in Chinese, is a special way of creating designs on metal. Lan means “blue” in Chinese, and jingtailan pieces often have a beautiful dark blue as the main color.
②Usually, making cloisonne needs many steps—creating a metal base, using metal strips (条) to create a design, filling the spaces with colored powders (粉末), and then firing. Each step needs cloisonne makers to be very careful and creative.
③Cloisonne appeared in China in the late 13th century. It became popular during the time of Emperor Jingtai in the Ming Dynasty. This gave its name of jingtailan. In 2006, cloisonne making was added to China’s national intangible cultural heritage (非物质文化遗产) list.
④Here is a story about two cloisonne masters. Several years ago, Li Jinglong and Guan Dian visited the Palace Museum in Beijing. There, they fell in love with cloisonne handcrafts (手工艺品). Since 2018, they have opened three workshops in Beijing.
⑤The whole process of making cloisonne is very hard, but Li and Guan made it easier. People only need to bend (把……弄弯) thin metal wires (金属丝) into shapes they like and use colored powders to fill the spaces.
⑥Chang Yunqi has been going to Handcraft Addicted in her free time for about five years. “The thin metal wires look like the pencil lines I draw on canvas (画布). It is challenging but also interesting,” she said.
⑦Li and Guan enjoy teaching people how to make traditional cloisonne. “We have many guests like Chang who come to our workshop weekly, not only to create art but also to get away from their busy lives,” said Li.

1.What can stop fire from spreading around in Hui-style buildings
A.Matou Walls. B.Blue titles. C.White Walls. D.The wood structure.

A.By comparing differences. B.By telling a story.

25.Who is the passage probably written to
A.Children. B.Parents. C.Students. D.Teachers.
26.What’s the purpose of writing Paragraph 1
A.To provide the background. B.To lead into the subject.
