Do you know ChatGPT It’s an artificial intelligence (AI, 人工智能) tool. It can answer questions, tell stories and do much more. But it needs to “drink” a lot of water.
ChatGPT has “homes” around the world in data centers (数据中心). When it works, the computers at the data centers get very hot. Workers must use water to cool them down. Cold water goes into pipes (管道) near the computers. The water needs to be very clean. They can’t use sea water because it can eat away (腐蚀) the pipes.
When you ask ChatGPT 20 to 50 questions, it “drinks” 0.5 k ilo of water. Scientists use 700, 000 kilos of water to build ChatGPT. The water use is very big. People can make 370 cars with it.

Imagine taking a flying taxi to the airport, or jumping over crowded city streets at rush hour, getting where you want to go far away faster than you could in a car. Believe it or not, you might be able to do these things in an air taxi sooner than you think.
An air taxi is something like a helicopter ( 直升机) that can carry people from place to place, and can go straight up and down without a long runway.
An American company called Joby Aviation has started testing their new air taxis. This is the first time they’ve tested a taxi that’s been built in a factory. Before that, all their taxis were made by hand. By 2025, Joby hopes to start carrying passengers for money. They’ve teamed up with Delta Air Lines to create a program to fly people from their homes to the airport. Besides the pilot, Joby’s air taxis can carry four other passengers. They can go around 100 miles before the electric batteries ( 电池) need recharging ( 充电).
Joby says compared with helicopters, their air taxis are both quieter and cheaper.
Although the idea of flying taxis is exciting, some people are still concerned about them. The air taxis may be quieter than helicopters, but they’ll still add noise and traffic to our skies. Some people worry that only rich people will be able to afford to use them.
It seems likely that air taxis will be part of the future travel. But there’s still a lot to do before air taxis become common.

People invented the zipper over a hundred years ago. It is known as one of the greatest inventions of the 20th century. People use it widely now. Do you know who invented it
In 1851, Elias Howe, the inventor of the sewing machine, received a patent ( 专利权) for a device. It had a similar function to the modern zipper. It is the first semblance of the zipper. But he did not continue developing his model.
In the middle of the 19th century, people in the US wore high shoes with a long row of buttons. Clothes often had rows of buttons, too. People wished that clothes were easier to put on and take off. In 1893, Whitcomb Judson developed a device called the “Clasp Locker”. Unlike Howe, he decided to market his invention. However, his product did not catch the public’s attention because it didn’t stay closed very well.
All was not lost. One of Judson’s engineers, a Swedish gentleman named Gideon Sundback, began working on different designs for the clasp locker. At last he created the first modern zipper in 1917. The name “zipper” was given to the invention by B. F. Goodrich Company when they decided to use Sundback’s product for their shoes. But the zipper became really popular when French designers used it in 1937 in their jeans.

No one knows when the first kite was made. The first record of a kite was more than 2, 000 years ago in China. Han Xin, the leader of an army, wanted to kill a king. So he decided to dig a tunnel (隧道) into the king’s palace. He flew a kite over the wall of the palace to make sure of the length (长度) of its string (线). In this way, he could determine (决定) how long the tunnel should be. His men in the tunnel took the kite string. When they reached the end of the string, they knew they should dig up.
Japanese began to fly kites hundreds of years ago. In the 1700s, people flew kites in autumn to give thanks for a good harvest. They were also used to give good wishes to parents who had their first son. Today in Japan, people fly kites to celebrate something, such as the beginning of a new year. And kite festivals are held each year in many parts of the country.
Kites have been used for scientific purposes (目的) in the western world. In 1752, Benjamin Franklin tied a key to a kite and flew it in a storm to find out whether lightning is a form of electricity. In the 1890s, Lawrence Hargrave invented the box kite to test ideas about flight. The Wright Brothers also experimented (试验) with kites. My Favorite Invention
The mobile phone is my favorite invention. An American invented mobile phones. The first mobile phone appeared in 1973 in America. And it makes our life more convenient.
First, mobile phones help people communicate with each other no matter where they are. People use them for calling. Second, we can also use them for sending short messages to express our feelings. What’s more, we can surf the Internet on mobile phones. That helps us open our eyes to the outside world. And we can get information we want to know easily. And when we feel tired, we can listen to music to make us relaxed.
I think this invention has made our life more convenient and colourful. What do you think about it
