5 小题;每小题 2 分,计 10 分)
Have you noticed people walking with their heads down, staring at phones This habit isn’
t just rude — it’s bad for your health!
Studies show that people on phones walk 10% slower. They take shorter steps and keep
both feet on the ground longer. This slow walking can even cause “heavy traffic” on busy
sidewalks! What’s more, looking down at your phone also hurts your neck and back. Holding
your head forward for too long puts more pressure on these areas. This can lead to pain,
sometimes called “text neck”. Phones don’t just harm your body — they influence your
feelings, too. Nowadays, more and more people go to the park for a walk. Studies show that
those without phones felt happier and more relaxed afterward.
Walking is great exercise, but only if you do it right. Next time you walk, try keeping your
phone in your pocket. It’s not only good for your physical but also mental health.
61. People using phones walk a bit slower than usual.
62. Walking with a phone often causes heavy traffic on the road.
63. Holding head forward for too long puts more pressure on your feet, back and neck.
64. “Text neck” refers to a kind of sore neck caused by reading text books for too long.

In recent years, more and more people, especially teenagers, are facing weight problems.
To solve this, a “Three-Year Action Plan for Weight Management” has been introduced.
The plan mainly focuses on two key parts: eating healthily and exercising regularly.
Eating healthily means having all kinds of foods, including plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole
grains, and proteins (like eggs and beans), while eating less fried, sugary, and salty foods like
fried chicken. Regular exercise is also very important. It can help make the body stronger. The
plan suggests that teenagers should do at least 60 minutes of exercise every day. Activities such
英语试卷 第 7 页 (共 13 页)
as running, cycling, and playing basketball are great choices.
Schools also play an important part in this plan. Some schools have added classes to teach
students about healthy eating. They also now provide more P.E. classes to make sure students
get enough exercise. Some schools even run weight-management clubs, where students can
share their experiences and encourage each other to reach their weight goals.
Parents need to join in, too. They should set a good example by living healthily at home.
For example, they can cook healthy meals with their children and take family walks together
regularly.
The plan aims to help people, especially teenagers, develop healthy habits and keep a
proper weight, which will be good for them throughout their lives.

C. Joining sports clubs and exercising after school.
73. Which of the following will schools do for the plan
A. Set up more sports teams and clubs.
B. Organize classes about eating healthily.
C. Allow students to exercise during breaks.
74. What’s the structure of this passage
A. B. C.
75. What is the main idea of the passage
A. Teenagers should avoid unhealthy food completely.
B. Schools and parents should control teenagers’ diets.
C. Managing weight needs healthy habits and support.

The World Games (TWG) will be held in Chengdu from August 7 to August
17 this year. 1 It’s named “Zhumeng”, which means
“Bamboo Dream” in Chinese and sounds like “chasing dreams”.
The torch’s design is inspired by the Grand Bronze Standing
Figure (大型青铜立像) from the Sanxingdui Ruins in Sichuan.
Using this figure in the torch design shows the spirit of the Chinese
— staying united while having differences. 2 In China,
bamboo stands for modesty (谦逊) and strength. It is ideal for representing sports because it
shows unity, hard work, and health.
The top of the torch is shaped like a young bamboo shoot with two buds (芽) spreading
out. 3 The whole torch looks like a strong bamboo stalk, showing the sports spirit of
unity and trying hard.
4 It gives athletes endless energy, like the sun. It also symbolizes their spirit of

The lion dance is an important art form in China. It is performed at many festivals,
especially Chinese New Year. People believe it brings good luck and drives out evil spirits. It
creates a festival atmosphere and brings happiness.
Two artists wear a lion costume to perform the dance. One plays the head and front legs.
The other plays the back and hind legs. Neither of them can finish many difficult movements
alone. They also need to practice Kungfu to do their job well.
There was no lion dance until the Han Dynasty. No one knew its origin clearly. Some said
it had to do with war. Once, an emperor led his army to fight against another country. One
night, he dreamed of a strange animal which was strong but didn’t look like a tiger. The next
day, they won the fight. The emperor wanted to know what it was. His advisors told him that
this animal was a lion. The emperor thought that it was a gift from heaven. So he asked people
to make this animal out of paper, cloth and bamboo. The “lion models” were used in future
fights to encourage soldiers. Later it became a form of art.
Here are some differences between the Northern Lion and the Southern Lion. The
Northern Lion is performed in the north and the other in the south. The Northern Lion looks
more real, while the Southern Lion looks more like a dragon. The Northern Lion focuses more
on the leg movements, while the Southern Lion makes dramatic head movements following the
sound of drums and gongs. Both types show the power and wisdom of Chinese culture.

School Safety
School safety is very important. It provides a good environment for students to study and grow.
Schools should take some measures to make sure of their student’s safety. First, set up rules to stop students
from fighting, so they don’t get hurt. Second, to prevent accidents, teachers can take turns to watch and remind
students to pay attention in some key areas such as hallways and playgrounds during breaks. Third, they can have
safety classes often, helping more students know what to do when meeting danger.
With these measures, our school will be a safer place. [94 词]

Hello, everyone! Today, let’s talk about how people in different countries enjoy their free time.
In the US, many people like to go to the theater or play sports outdoors. Fishing is also popular. An
interesting thing is that more than 90% of Americans say watching TV is their favorite thing to do.
In Britain, things are a bit different. British people still keep the tradition of drinking a good cup of tea in
their free time. They also visit the market from time to time to find things that they can use.
In Russia, people are interested in reading. They read in the park, on the subway, or just anywhere they like.
Another special habit is swimming in winter, which can make the body stronger in their eyes. They also like
traveling with friends or family to experience different cultures.
In Germany, reading is common, too. A survey shows that one third of German people read over 18 books a
year.
So, how do you spend your free time

Have you ever seen a dishwasher and do you have one in your house The person who invented the
dishwasher was actually an American called Josephine Cochrane. Josephine was a rich American who liked to
give a lot of dinner parties. But she was very angry that her servants used to break plates and cups when they were
washing them after the party. So Josephine decided to find out a solution to the problem. After working hard on
her idea, she successfully invented a machine in 1886, which would wash a lot of plates and glass safely. This was
the first dishwasher in history. Josephine didn’t only use the invention in her own house. She was sure that it
would be a great helper for other families and people would welcome the new invention. So, she introduced her
invention to the 1893 World’s Fair. But to her surprise, only the hotels and large restaurants would like to try her
new invention while few families bought her idea. Dishwashers didn’t become welcomed by the general public
until the fifties of the twentieth century. Today the dishwasher is used by millions of people all over the world.
