I’m glad to tell you something about the Dragon Boat Festival. It is celebrated on the fifth day of
the fifth lunar month, usually in June.
During the festival, people hold dragon boat races to honor the ancient poet Qu Yuan. Families also
make zongzi (sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves) and hang wormwood leaves on doors to
drive away bad luck. The most special food is “zongzi”, which can be sweet or salty.
People love this festival because it combines exciting activities with meaningful traditions. It reminds us
of Chinese history and the importance of teamwork.
