From bikes to motorbikes, buses to private cars, the traveling services for Chinese people have changed greatly. Looking back, we can find how far we’ve come.
In the 1950s and 1960s in China, most people got around on foot. Although there were public bus services, they were too expensive. In the 1970s, the bicycle became popular in China. Still, it was considered as an expensive thing. Bikes were even used as a wedding present. In the 1980s, motorbikes took the place of bikes. From the 1990s on, Chinese people’s “two-wheel dream” developed into a “four-wheel dream”. Private cars have become popular since then.
As for trains, “green-skinned trains”, known for their slow speed, became popular after coming out in 1984. But with China’s continuing development of high-speed trains, the country is now saying goodbye to its old green trains. Years ago, the world’s fastest bullet train Fuxing came into use between Beijing and Shanghai, which cuts the journey time to just four and a half hours.
Air travel has also developed rapidly, offering people both speed and comfort. Beijing Daxing International Airport opened in September 2019 and became the largest modern airport in the world.
Today, China has the world’s longest high-speed railway network and largest airport. The country is moving forward, providing people with more traveling services.
21. What does the underlined pronoun “it” refer to in Para. 2
A. The bicycle. B. The private car. C. The motorbike.
22. What does the writer think of the traveling services in China
A. They are kind of expensive. B. They have changed greatly. C. They aren’t “green” enough.
23. Which can be the best title for the text
A. Chinese People’s “Four-Wheel Dream”
B. Amazing Beijing Daxing International Airport
C. The Development of Chinese Traveling Services
24. What can be inferred from the text
A. The writer is proud of Chinese traveling services.
B. China’s public bus services in the 1950s were cheap.
C. Motorbikes took the place of bikes in the 1960s.

Zibo, which is in the center of Shandong Province, has a population of about 4.7 million. It is an old industrial city, not known as a tourist place. But that has all changed now and everybody is talking about Zibo. How has Zibo become such a popular place, especially for young people
Its interesting barbecue culture is the first and main reason. The city has been known for its barbecue restaurants for years, and created an open-air BBQ entertainment environment. The Zibo BBQ experience includes “do it yourself”. When the food is served, the diners have to cook themselves on a stove on the table and then eat it in a special way. Zibo has set up special tourist trains and BBQ buses to attract groups of tourists. Now the whole country wants a taste of Zibo barbecue.
Another reason is that Zibo played a special role during COVID-19. Some students from Ji’nan were well taken care of during their stay in Zibo. And they celebrated their last night in Zibo with a BBQ. The next spring they came back to Zibo and spent time there to thank the city. Their posts online became a hot topic and made the city popular.
Douyin is also at the heart of Zibo’s recent success. As more and more people have come to Zibo and shared the videos on it and other social media, Zibo gets even more popular.
All in all, it’s clear that Zibo has done something right. As many cities are doing all they can to promote their town as a tourist place, Zibo has shown us the key to success: to stay kind, to be reliable (可靠), but most of all, to keep the barbecue hot.
25. What do we know about Zibo barbecue culture
A. The diners need to cook themselves.
B. People enjoy it in the in-door rooms.
C. Zibo will set up BBQ trains and buses.
26. Some students from Ji’nan came back to Zibo to _________.
A. help to serve Zibo’s tourists B. experience its tourist trains C. show their thanks to the city
27. What’s the correct structure of the text (P1= Paragraph 1)
A. B. C.
28. What does the underlined word “promote” most probably mean
A. Help something to happen or develop.
B. Advise someone to make decisions.
C. Attract someone to taste local food.

Students’ Opinions on After-school Services
With the implementation of the “double reduction” policy, Yucai Middle School carried out a satisfaction survey on after-school services. The results show that 92% of students think these services are helpful, 5% consider them unhelpful, and 3% have no specific opinion.
Supporters argue that they can finish homework at school with teachers’ guidance, which alleviates parents’ pressure and saves time for revision. They also value diversified activities like sports and art classes, which broaden their horizons and enrich after-school life. On the contrary, students against the services believe that the extended school hours reduce family interaction time and limit their ability to pursue hobbies at home, where they prefer to relax or practice interests such as reading or painting.
In my view, after-school services are overall beneficial. I believe that the academic support they provide is crucial for improving grades, especially for students who struggle with certain subjects. While some may feel their free time is limited, proper time management can help balance both aspects. As the survey indicates, the advantages of these services clearly outweigh the drawbacks, making them a valuable part of students’ comprehensive development.
