Wang Xingxing, born in 1990 in a small village in Yuyao, Zhejiang Province, has achieved remarkable success in the field of robotics. His parents are villagers, but that didn’t stop him from chasing his dream.
During his time at Yuyao Xiaodong Middle School, Wang was interested in making handicrafts like model cars, ships, and airplanes using old things at home. In 2009, when he studied at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, he made his first desktop humanoid robot with two legs, costing only over 200 yuan. Later, while getting a postgraduate degree at Shanghai University in 2015, he developed X-Dog and won a prize in the Shanghai Robot Design Competition.
In 2016, he founded Hangzhou Unitree Robotics Company. The company soon produced four-legged robots such as Laikago, Aliengo, and A1. When Ben Franklin was only a child, he always wanted to know about things. He was always asking his father and brothers “What ”, “How ” and “Why ”. At the 2007 Asian Winter Games in Changchun, Jilin province, 17-year-old Xu Mengtao won a silver medal in freestyle skiing women’ aerials (空中腾跃). Eighteen years later, at the 2025 Games in Harbin, she turned that silver into gold and became China’s first snow sports grand slam winner.
“For a player who competes in aerials, it is hard to stay at the top of their game at this age.” the 34-year-old told China Daily.
Xu was born in 1990. She started freestyle skiing at 12. Her journey to the top wasn’t easy. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada, she finished sixth. But that only made her work harder. She won a silver medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
In 2016, she hurt her knee badly. Doctors took out nearly 70 percent of the cartilage (半月板) in her left knee. “There were moments when I thought about giving up,” Xu told CCTV News. “I have had a silver medal already.
