Man’s Best Friend: The Loyal Dog
Dogs, who have been our friends for thousands of years, are more than just pets—they’re family. With their
wagging tails and warm eyes, these loyal animals can understand human emotions better than many people think.
They could once work as hunters or guards, but today, they often become companions that bring joy to our lives.
In cities, you may see homeless dogs wandering the streets. Sadly, some humans forget their responsibility
to look after these animals. Thankfully, many kind people work to save them. Animal shelters allow volunteers to
feed and care for sick or lonely dogs. With proper training, even scared dogs can become confident and friendly.
Dogs’ amazing abilities make them true heroes. Some can smell diseases in humans, while others help
blind people walk safely. Police dogs could find missing persons or detect danger. Their bravery and intelligence
remind us why they deserve our respect.
If you want to adopt a dog, remember: they need daily walks, healthy food, and lots of love. A happy dog’s
playful energy will fill your home with laughter. Let’s promise never to forget that saving animals is also saving

Bullying at school is an unfortunately frequent phenomenon (频繁现象). Three-quarters of students say
they have been called names, excluded (排 挤 ) from social groups or experienced violence at school. It’s so
common that the solution of being bullied should be taught to every student.
Being bullied has affected many children. It can make children feel really bad, and the stress of dealing
with it can make them feel sick. They may not want to play outside or attend school. It’s hard to keep mind on
schoolwork when one is worried about the bully. A study found that victims (受害者) of teenage bullying were
much more likely to have mental health problems. This may lead to difficulty in communicating when they grow
up.
Since bullying is a big problem that affects students so much, how to deal with it becomes an important
question. The first piece of advice is preventing a run-in with the bully. As a student, you can’t go into hiding or
skip a class, but you can take a different way to school. Don’t give the bully a chance to hurt you. Secondly,
standing up for yourself. Bullies often pick on someone they think they can have power over. But if you pretend to
feel really brave and confident, the bully may walk away. Sometimes, just acting brave is enough to stop a bully.
If the bully continues to bother you, seek help from adults such as teachers, parents or police. Sometimes, bullies
stop as soon as a teacher finds out because they are afraid they will be punished.
Being bullied is a nightmare for teenagers. No matter how terrible it might be, day time would eventually
come. Don’t give up!

World’s First Humanoid Robot (人形机器人) HalfMarathon (半马拉松)
On April 19, 2025, Beijing’s Yizhuang (亦 庄 ) district hosted the world’s first humanoid robot
half-marathon. Twenty-one teams of robots from cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong raced on a
21.1-kilometer course alongside human runners, proving (证 明 ) how robots can handle real-world tasks like
long-distance running.
The winner, Tiangong Ultra from the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, finished in 2 hours 40
minutes with a top speed of 12 km/h. This 1.8-meter-tall robot used lightweight materials and cooling systems to
avoid (避 免 ) overheating. Other teams, such as Whirlwind Kid and Little Giant (a 75-centimeter-tall robot),
impressed with shock-absorbing shoes and AI-powered balance control on slopes and gravel (碎石) paths.
The race tested the robots’ limits. The track had 14 sharp turns and steep slopes. It also included different
surfaces like grass and gravel. Teams could swap (更 换 ) batteries at seven supply (补 给 ) stations. If teams
replaced the whole robot, they lost 10 minutes. Some robots wore special shoes to protect joints (关节), while

Man’s Best Friend: The Loyal Dog
Dogs, who have been our friends for thousands of years, are more than just pets—they’re family. With their

Rainforests are some of the most amazing places on Earth. They are full of life, with thousands of different
plant and animal species. These thick forests are found in warm and wet areas near the equator.
The rainforest is like a huge, green world. The tall trees form a canopy (天蓬,顶棚), which is like a big
roof high above the ground. Under this canopy, there are many smaller plants, vines, and flowers. The air is
always humid, filled with the sounds of birds, insects, and animals.
Rainforests are very important for our planet. They are often called the “lungs of the Earth” because they
absorb a large amount of carbon dioxide and release oxygen. This helps to keep the air clean and healthy for us to
breathe.
Many animals live in the rainforest. Monkeys swing from tree to tree, colorful birds fly among the branches,
and strange insects crawl on the leaves. There are also big cats like jaguars, which are excellent hunters.

destroying the homes of many animals and plants. We need to protect the rainforests to keep our planet healthy.

stop as soon as a teacher finds out because they are afraid they will be punished.

Some robots wore special shoes to protect joints (关节), while
others used real-time sensors (传感器) to avoid falls.
Organizers (组织者) called it a milestone, highlighting future uses such as assisting doctors in hospitals or
moving goods in factories.
