重点盯: 段落首尾句、转折句(but/however)、结论句(so/therefore)、列举处(first, second)。
动词 短语("solve" → "find a solution to")
→ n. (solve → solution), adj. → n. (healthy → health)

My friend, Amy, once said to me, “Travelling alone is a lifechanging experience.” I travelled alone a lot when I was in my early 20s and I loved it. The experiences of travelling alone really make me more adventurous(有冒险精神的). I think everyone should try at least once in their lives. Now I'm married. I go everywhere with my husband and it's just not the same. The feeling of being on an adventure has gone. I miss travelling alone.

I don't meet adventures with them, but I can experience a lot when travelling alone. When travelling by myself, I can choose what I will do next at any time. I can visit a place that I didn't plan to see before. I can go there without having to agree with anyone first. I try to work out all my problems on my own and I become more independent(独立的).
However, there is just one thing that is not so good for me. I always hope that there are good hotels and safe transport routes(路线) in the places I will visit. So every time before I begin my solo trip, I have to make sure the hotel is good and that the transport routes are safe.

When Dr Karen McComb came to Amboseli Park, her first task was to learn the names of the one hundred or so elephants most often seen.
Scientists working in the park have learned to study elephants by watching them up close. They have a list of almost one thousand elephants. There are records for all of the elephants born since 1972.Amboseli was a good place for Dr McComb to study animal communications. Elephants were a great subject because their lifestyle depends on communication.
Dr McComb and her team had learned a lot about elephant communication, but they kept on thinking about one puzzling (困惑的) watch. Some families were better at distinguishing (区别) calls of friends from those of strangers.
What made some families smarter than others The scientists searched their records for an explanation. To their surprise, there was only one factor (因素) of importance: The “smartest” families always had the oldest grandmothers. A family, as it did in all other activities, waited for some signal (信号) from the grandmother when they heard a strange contact call. And older, more experienced grandmothers were better at telling whether other elephants were strangers or friends just by their calls.
That was an important discovery. It showed how an elephant family depends on the experience of the grandmother.

American boys and girls love watching TV. Some children spend six hours a day in school and four to six hours a day in front of the TV set. Some even watch TV for eight hours or more on Saturday or Sunday.
Every coin has two sides. A child can learn both bad things and good things from TV programs. Some programs help children to understand the news, and others show people and places from other countries or other times in history. The programs can help educate them well. A program makes it easier for little kids to learn about animals. They do not have to go to the zoo to see animals or to the ocean to see a ship. Boys and girls can see a play, a concert or a game at home.
TV programs bring many places and events into our homes. Some programs show the crime and other things that are bad for children, so parents sometimes should help them to find other interesting things to do.

重点盯: 段落首尾句、转折句(but/however)、结论句(so/therefore)、列举处(first, second)。
动词 短语("solve" → "find a solution to")
→ n. (solve → solution), adj. → n. (healthy → health)

Mars Colonies: Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX, dreams of building a city on Mars. But living there need to solve challenges like radiation (辐射), extreme cold, and lack of air.
Is it good for everyone

-Environmental problem: Rocket launches produce pollution.
