But I 8 if singing and talking to your plants means you care about them. Could it be the care that makes them healthier instead of the music itself
Here comes another question: can plants 9 music I couldn’t believe it when I heard about the plants singing show in Italy! Are they for real Yes, devices (装置) are tied to plant leaves. Hi, everyone! Today I am talking about table manners. Table manners are all the 1 we should follow when we are eating with other people.
My parents told me not to put too much food in my mouth, 2 they told me not to put the knife in my mouth or lick it. This is about safety as well as manners. I hate it when people talk with food in their mouths. There is one thing I hate even more. It’s when people 3 about the food they are eating while they are still eating it.
The next important rule is that if you don’t eat something, then you need to tell the host. Don’t wait until you arrive, or everyone might have an 4 time. If you forget to tell the host beforehand, then you need to eat what you are given.
It’s okay if you do not want tea, coffee or another drink that is 5 . But don’t turn your cup over or put your hand over the top. Just tell whoever is serving that you do not want it.
An important rule is that if you cannot 6 something, you should ask for it. So we often have to pass food and plates around. They should be passed around the table to the right. If you are passed something that you do not want, then you should 7 passing it on. Don’t just put it down.
Plates should be taken away only when 8 at the table has finished eating. You should put your knife and fork together pointing up from the bottom of the plate. Then everyone knows you have finished.
Take care not to leave a meal too early. That looks as if you only came for the meal and not the 9 . One thing that happens all too often is that people forget to say “thank you”. Make sure you 10 your host when you leave. Also send a text or an email after the meal. A handwritten thank-you note will show you really have manners!

The use of the word “disabled” always makes me angry. In my daily life, I experience so many difficulties that are not seen by any other person. However, once when a friend gets a broken 1 and has to walk on crutches like me for a few weeks, they begin to look at me with more understanding.
In Nigeria, school education is a big challenge (挑战) for the disabled. The school buildings and all other facilities (设施) were not 2 for anyone who uses a wheelchair or crutches. So in order to attend school, I usually have to do more than others. My parents didn’t send me to any 3 school, so I attended normal schools like many other children. But when I got to the college, things changed. I had to live on campus (住校) 4 it was very far from town to the school and the travel cost much. Using the facilities was a difficult task, and many days I 5 give up taking my bath in the toilets.
I didn’t lose heart. Today, I work as a computer programmer and I own and drive a car. 6 , my mother did a lot in this success story. She always believed that I could become somebody 7 in life. She always encouraged (鼓励) me and had high hopes for me. She’s not alive now. Without her encouragement I might achieve nothing today. All mothers with disabled children should 8 the example of my mother.
Disability is often thought of as something physical. It can be seen and 9 . But the fact is that disability is often in the mind. So the final war has to be fought by yourself. People will not easily change their mind. You must make them see that they are 10 . Society must know that we are not disabled, we are just challenged and will take up the challenge.
