教材分析
Analysis of the Unit The topic of this unit is Internet under the theme of human and society. The big idea of this unit is that Internet has been increasingly popular universally, and we should take advantage of it wisely and ensure our safety online. Analysis of the Period As the fifth period of this unit, this period concentrates on how to choose the best app. What: A dialogue between Xiao Bo and Laura, who are talking about the apps they need. Why: The listening text tells us that we can choose the best apps according to our needs and their functions. How: This listening text is a dialogue, which contains a common topic and is close to students’ lives. Besides, the slang in this text makes it authentic and vivid.
学情分析
The students of this class are from Senior One. They are active and enthusiastic, willing to share opinions. With their previous experience and discussion on online habits before, they are quite familiar with various online activities, but they have never talked about apps before. As for listening skills, they still need to practice focusing on key words before listening. As for talking about the best app, they still need to learn how to express predictions, guesses and beliefs. What’s more, creative and critical thinking needs improvement and practice. So they may want to know more about functions and strengths of different apps, further practice their listening and talking skills and cultivate their critical thinking.
教学目标
By the end of this class, students are expected to Acquire general and detailed information of the listening text Express predictions, guesses and beliefs properly in the conversation and apply them to the authentic situations. Get to know the functions of the apps and learn to choose the best ones. Create different apps, make a presentation and evaluate others’ works.
教学内容
教学重点: Help students to acquire detailed information about functions of different apps; Help students to apply the words used to express predictions, guesses and beliefs. 教学难点: How to help students utilize what they have learned to design new apps, and guide them to evaluate each others’ apps.

Step2 Listening Activity 1: Listen for the gist 学习理解类: 概括与整合 Guide Students to get the general information. Listen and find out what apps they want. To train students’ ability to summarize the general information by listening for the first time 通过三次听的活动,学生能够理解文本内容,找出并添加更多表示“预测、猜测和相信”的功能意念项目来表达预期和评价。
Activity 2: Listen for the details 学习理解类: 获取与梳理 Guide students to listen for the detailed information. Listen and circle the functions of the apps they need. To guide students to extract the detailed information by taking notes
Activity 3: Listen for the language 学习理解类: 获取与梳理 Guide students to listen for specific sentences and identify words used to express predictions, guesses, and beliefs 1.Listen and tick the sentences. 2.Underline the words used to express predictions, guesses, and beliefs. 3.Brainstorming more expressions. To practise listening for specific sentences and identifying the words To add more expressions through brainstorming for later use
Step3 Talking Activity 4: Guess & Choose . 应用实践类: 内化与运用 Activity 5: Design & Present 应用实践类: 内化与运用 迁移创新类: 想象与创造 Guide students to guess people’s problems in the pictures and recommend apps to them. Guess what problems they have and choose the best apps for them. To internalize what they have learnt by recommending apps to people with different problems 学生能够运用所学向别人推荐App, 能创造性地设计自己的App并能运用所学的词汇和表达方式对他人设计的App进行评价。
Guide students to create their own apps and choose the best one. Work in groups to design apps and make a presentation. Evaluate others’ apps by using what they have learnt in this period. To stimulate students’ creativity and critical thinking
