As a child, I was very shy. Almost everyone around me except my parents made me nervous. But then one day, it changed.
On that day, we took the school bus to school in the morning. The school bus was very crowded and hot. But we couldn’t open the windows. It was simply raining too hard. I sat alone as usual, speaking to no one. Over and over, I carefully cleaned a small circle on my window so that I could see the rain outside.
The bus stopped, waiting for the traffic light. I saw a small dog cross the street. He was all wet and didn’t seem to know where to go. Passing cars would kill him. I wanted to help the dog, but I knew the bus driver Mr Smith wouldn’t let me get off the bus. I thought that if I pointed out the poor dog, the other children would probably laugh at me.
I felt very sad. The bus began to move forward. I still couldn’t take my eyes off this little dog. He was begging for help. I looked around, but nobody else seemed to have noticed it. Suddenly, I stood up and cried, “Mr. Smith! A poor dog outside! If we don’t help him, he’ll die! ”

Some fish have an unbelievable sense of smell. They can smell even a single drop of their home water in a large sea area. Some sea birds have a similar ability. They are able to make a smell map of their flying area.
Some animals can sense the earth’s magnetic field (磁场), while humans can’t. This magnetic field guides a certain kind of fish when they swim a long way to a place and then back. How can this kind of fish do that It is still a mystery. Scientists have no good answers yet.
However, animals with such unusual abilities still have difficulty dealing with environmental changes caused by human activities. For example, many birds depend on stars for direction, but they get lost easily at night when city lights are kept on all night. To solve this problem, we can simply turn off some lights at night. Clearly, one small act of humans may mean a lot to animals.

In the coming years, artificial intelligence (AI) is probably going to change our life, and likely the whole world. 31
AI is the art of training computers to “think” and have a “brain”. It allows devices (设备) to help us do things through programming and coding. 32 Then it could repeat the job over and over again.
33 It could work all the time and can reduce human mistakes. Doctors use AI to look over patients. Astronauts use AI for discovering planets. Artists use AI to make art. We use AI when we are learning, too. These are only a few examples of AI. In our daily lives, we see and use AI every day.
34 One of the problems is that some AI devices would go out of control and have their own “opinions”. For example, some self-driving cars like Tesla could go out of control and cause car accidents. So, you see, AI is a technology we still need to improve.
In the future. AI may get better and better. Maybe one day AI robots could help us do things such as doing science experiments and going to outer space. 35 But this technology is sure to be a great success in our inventing history.
A.But people have a hard time agreeing on exactly how.
B.We will never know how AI will develop.
C.AI makes our daily lives easier.
D.Although AI makes our lives easier, it also has problems.
E.The device is taught to drive a car or do other human-like things.

Should we be paid to do chores
Good morning, everyone!
I am very happy to be here to make a speech today. The topic of my speech is “Should we be paid to do chores ”
My answer to this question is no. I don’t think I should be paid to help my family.
As a member of the family, I should contribute to keeping the home clean, tidy and organized. After all, I make some of the mess. Besides, it is nice to feel part of a team with everyone pulling together. Lending a hand is a way of showing love and appreciation to my parents who do so much for me. As for others, I don’t know what will happen if children start expecting to be paid for every tiny thing they do. What’s more, can all parents afford to pay their children
In a word, we should not be paid to do chores.
That’s all. Thank you!
