Teaching Objectives
1.Be able to talk about what is happening by using the present continuous tense. 2.Be able to create a group of flats and present the activities of different people both in speaking and writing. 3.Be able to explain the meaning of the flat’s name and people’s activities in combination with your painting .
Teaching Content
What: The theme is "Draw a group of flats". The content centers around project - based learning through group cooperation. Activity 3a requires students to draw a cross - section of an apartment and name it, following the example diagram in Activity 3c. Activity 3b asks students to depict the activities of different people in the apartment to enrich the details of the drawing. Activity 3c is the work - sharing session, where students mainly showcase and share their drawn apartment diagrams and describe what people in each household of the apartment building are doing, enabling students to apply the core grammar structure of this unit “the present continuous tense” in a real life context. Why: The significance lies in enhancing students' comprehensive language using abilities through practical activities. The intention is to let students use the present continuous tense to describe people's activities in the project. The affective attitude is to encourage students to give full play to their imagination and creativity, and express their ideas using colors and lines. The value orientation is to cultivate students' teamwork spirit and innovative thinking, and also to prompt students to develop the habit of observing life, making them love life more and experience the beauty and happiness in ordinary life. How: The text type is an activity instruction. In terms of content structure, it takes project tasks as the clue to gradually advance the activities. The theme of "apartment life" is introduced through videos and pictures to activate students' life experiences. Then, analyze the textbook examples to clarify the task objectives and language framework. Finally, students complete the apartment design through group cooperation and present it.

3 mins Students watch the video, and under the guidance of the teacher's questions, get a preliminary understanding of the five elements that run through the whole class. 1. The method of video teaching increases the fun of learning, which helps to arouse students' learning interest and motivation, enabling students to naturally immerse themselves in the thematic study of this class.
5 mins 2.Show some pictures and let students identify which one is a flat buiding. 3. Look at the picture in 3c, and ask students to answer some questions. 4.Let students read the introduction about the flats, and ask them to find out five elements in it. 2.Lead students to recognize vocabulary related to houses and expand their vocabulary. 3 and 4.Through pictures, questions and texts, let students understand the content to be learned in this class.
7 mins 5.Show a picture of an apartment and the activities of people in the flats, and an unfinished introduction to the apartment. Let students complete the introduction. 6.Let students find out the five elements in this iontroduction. 7.Let students retell this introduction under the guidance of the teacher. 5.Provide students with more and richer materials in the form of high - school entrance examination question types. 6 and 7. It also lays the foundation for students to present their works in the end.
3 mins 8.Explain how to complete the project step by step to students. 8. Let students clearly know what to do in each step.
20 mins 9.Let students carry on their work in their own groups according to teacher’s instruction. 9. Provide enough time for students to divide the work and cooperate with each other to jointly complete this project activity. It not only gives full play to the strengths of each member but also reflects their teamwork spirit.
7 mins Let students present their works and give their evaluations. 10. Show the achievements of the activity.
Homework Must do: Polish your work and rewrite your design. Put up your design on the class boards. Can choose to do: Present and introduce your snapshot to your family members and record the process. Improve students' painting abilities, comprehensive language application abilities, creativity, and aesthetic abilities by polishing their painting works and posting them on the class board, as well as capturing moments of their family members' activities and introducing them in the class.
