How Have We Been Changed by AI
Version I
AI has greatly changed our lives and studies. It helps us learn faster by providing quick answers and
personalized suggestions. In daily life, AI assistants like Siri make tasks easier, from setting reminders to
playing music.
However, overusing AI can make us lazy and less creative. To use AI wisely, we should treat it as a tool,
not a replacement for thinking. For example, when doing homework, try solving problems yourself before
asking AI for help. Also, limit screen time to balance online and offline activities.
In short, AI brings convenience, but we must use it properly to stay independent and creative.(102 words)
Version 2
AI has deeply influenced our study and life. In learning, it works as a smart helper, offering quick answers
to difficult questions and creating personal study plans. Students can practice languages with AI chatbots to
improve speaking skills effectively. In daily life, smart devices like voice assistants make tasks easier — they
schedule appointments, control home appliances, and even remind us of deadlines. AI also enriches
entertainment by recommending movies and music based on our interests.
To use AI wisely, avoid over-reliance, as it may weaken critical thinking. Always verify its information to
ensure accuracy. With proper use, AI will keep bringing practical benefits to our daily lives. (108 words)

M: Well, I like both the red and blue shirts. Should I get them both
W: Why don’t you try on the purple one instead You have too many blue shirts and the red one might make
your skin tone look a bit darker.
Te xt 2
M: Did you order your new phone online
W: Yeah, I made the payment three days ago. M: And when will you receive it
W: The delivery takes four or five days, so I will get it tomorrow or the day after.
Te xt 3
M: I’ll be out of the office tomorrow, but I’ll be checking my email from home.
Please send the report for the hotel as soon as it’s finished.
W: No problem. It’ll be in your inbox by 2:00 p.m. at the latest.
Text 4
M: Let’s walk to school today. The car broke down when mom drove back from the supermarket yesterday.
W: Fine. I could use some exercise, anyway. Let’s go.
Text 5
W: Excuse me. I would like to send my fish back to the kitchen. It is not properly cooked.
M: I’m terribly sorry, miss. I will let the chef know and bring it back to you soon.
Text 6
M: Come and try this Indian dessert.
W: Thanks, ⑥but is there any cheese in it
M: ⑥Don’t worry. It’s made of milk, butter, sugar, and nuts. W: ⑥That’s a relief. It sounds very rich.
M: We only eat one or two pieces with tea after dinner. W: What kind of tea do you have
M: ⑦Well, we usually have tea which is mixed with milk. Some people like it plain, but some people put sugar
in it. We sit around and talk over tea and dessert.

M: ⑧Hey, I was thinking about Mom and Dad’s 60th birthday. It’s in two weeks, but I’m booked solid with
work. How about you
W: ⑧I’ve got that big presentation next week, and I can’t miss it. We need to do something.
M: ⑧I was thinking we could celebrate early. Like this Saturday, we can plan everything in secret and surprise
them.
W: ⑧That’s a great idea! I’ll call Mom and Dad and tell them we’ll have a family dinner. They won’t suspect a
thing.
M: Perfect. ⑨I’ll order their favorite cake from that bakery downtown. W: I’ll also pick up some of their favorite snacks and drinks.
M: Awesome. I’ll set up the living room with balloons and streamers.
W: ⑩We can even get some of their old photos and make a little display.
M: Great. I’ll also invite Grandmaand Grandpa.

M: Have you read that article about polar bears on National Geographic Kids
W: Not yet. But I know polar bears live in cold areas.
M: Right! And they’re huge⑩Adult polar bears can be over 2.5m long and weigh around 680kg.
W: (11)Wow! I knew they were big, but I had no idea that they were that huge. Despite their size, they’re also
good swimmers.
M: Yeah. They’ve been seen swimming over 100km offshore. They can swim at around 10km/h.(12)Besides,
they have an amazing sense of smell, able to find food up to 16km away.
W: That’s impressive. (13)They’re still in danger, right
M: Sadly, yes. Global warming is a big problem. Sea ice melts earlier and forms later, leaving polar bears less
time to hunt.
W: That is too bad. We should take some actions to slow the speed of global warming, like driving less and
planting more trees.

M: Have you ever noticed how a particular song can bring back a flood of memories
W: Yes. (14) Every time I listen to the song, Don’t Cry for Me Argentina, I think of many things in Argentina,
which makes me homesick. What about you
M: The song Beijing Welcomes You reminds me of the impressive scenes of the 2008 Summer Olympics in
Beijing. Music is an expression of a culture.
W: You said it. And do you remember the song we used to sing together at college M: (15) You mean the English song Yesterday Once More
W: (15) Yeah. It was this song that built a bridge of friendship between us.
M: (15) That’s true. Music can bring people from different cultures together.
W: (16)And music can bring energy and joy. When I dance to the song You Raise Me Up, I feel fresher and
more energetic.
M: It seems like music gives you power. And making music enables me to gain more power.
W: (17) And you also play the piano for a living.
M: (17) Yes. Besides, I want to share the joy of music with everyone.
