本单元第3课时 Unit 3 Language in use(复习课)
语篇研读
In this unit, students will revise what they have learnt in this module, including key words, key expressions and structures. And students will revise the conversation and the passage in unit 1and unit 2. Then students will review adverbial clause of time and do some exercise about it. In “Around the world,” it talks about some public holidays in the US. And the module task is making a poster about a Chinese festival.
学情分析
九年级的学生思想比较成熟,他们怕出错而羞于回答问题,但他们有极强的可塑性和易变性,还好,本模块的话题是他们感兴趣的话题之一,学生在前两个单元的学习过程中,对于本模块涉及的动词不定式的用法有了一定的了解,使得本单元的学习变得轻松。因此,只要充分调动他们的学习积极性,给予各个层次学生不同难度的任务,学生乐学,他们会主动参与到学习活动中,本单元教学便会得到良好收益。

教学重点: 1.Can review and check the words and the expressions learned in this module:get together, take a vacation, etc. 2.Can summarize and consolidate adverbial clause of time and master 6 conjunctions: when, as soon as, before/after, while, until. 3.Can complete all the exercise in this module.
教学方法
本节课型为Revision and application,根据新课标的要求,结合教材和学生特点,主要采用任务型互动式进行教学,结合情景法、交际法、听说法、归纳法等教学方法实施课堂活动,开启学生思维,通过一系列有条理的教学活动,引导学生自主探究学习和与他人互动合作学习,让学生体验愉快学习。

T:Ask students to review expressions of dates according to some pictures of public holidays. Step 2 Language practice T:Read through the example sentences in the box with the whole class. 1.While we’re staying with our friends, we’re going to spend one day in Qingdao. 2.Before we begin dinner, my father gives thanks for the food. 3.When it is all over, everyone helps wash the dishes. 4.And my family always go somewhere interesting as soon as the holiday begins. 5.We have celebrated the festival since the first pioneers arrived in America. 6.After they landed, their first winter was worse than any English winter T:Ask the students to repeat the sentences in the box and then ask them to translate them. 能够正确理解时间状语从句,完成练习题并熟练掌握做题技巧。 Grammar: Adverb Clauses of Time(时间状语从句) 用来修饰谓语动词、其他动词、定语、状语或整个句子的从句叫状语从句。状语从句有很多种,今天我们主要学习由when, while, before, after, as soon as, since, until引导的时间状语从句。 1. when 当。。。的时候 Mozart started writing music when he was four years old. 当莫扎特的时候,开 始写音乐作品。 2. while 当。。。时 He visited a lot of places while he was traveling. 他在旅途中参观了许多地方。 3. as 在。。。的同时;一边。。。一边。。。 He smiled as he stood up. 他一边站起来一边笑着。 4. after 在。。。之后 He left the classroom after he had finished his homework the other day. 前几天 做完作业之后回的家。 5. before 在。。。之前 Mr. Brown had worked in a bank for a year before he came here. 布朗先生来这 之前已经在一家银行里工作一年了。 6. as soon as 一。。。就。。。 We began to work as soon as we got there. 我们一到那就开始工作。 I will write to you as soon as I get home. 我一到家就给你写信。 7. since 自。。。以来 到现在表示自过去的一个起点时间到目前说话时间 为止的一段持续时间。主句一般用现在完成时,从句用一般过去时。 Mr Green has taught in that school since he came to china three years ago. 自格林先生来中国以来,他就在这所学校教书。 还可以用作介词,本句从句还可以用短语:since three years ago自三年前以来表示。 8 till /until 都可以作连词,连接时间状语,也可以作介词,与其它词构成介词短语,在句中作状语。 They walked till /until it was dark. 他们一直走到天黑。 Xiao Ming didn’t leave home till / until his father came back. 小明直到他爸爸回来才离开家。 通过练习加强掌握本单元的语法和语言点。 练习巩固知识。 学生对动词不定式掌握较好

Public holidays in the US Apart from Independence Day, Labour Day and Thanksgiving, the US has several other important holidays during the year. Martin Luther King Day in January celebrates the birthday of the great civil rights leader. Columbus Day in October remember Christopher Columbus’ arrival in the Americas in 1492. T:Ask students to read the text by themselves and explain some new words or expressions to them. T:Introduce the other information about the public holidays in the US. Step 5 Writing T:Ask students to work in groups. Choose a Chinese festival and answer the questions in Ac 10. 1.Do people celebrate the festival in other countries or only in China 2.Do people celebrate the festival at the same time in different areas 3.Is the festival on the same day or date every year 4.Do people eat special food during the festival 5.Do people wear special clothes 6.Do people usually stay at home or go somewhere to celebrate T:Ask students to write sentences about the festival. Use their answers in Activity 10 to help. Join the sentences with as soon as, until, while, when, etc. T:Ask students to make a poster. Find some pictures showing the festival. T:Conclude how to make an English poster. Step 6 Conclusion and homework T:Ask students to look at the module task. 本课的教学目标是通过练习,让学生正确掌握本模块的词汇和短语。通过观察,总结和练习,让学生理解和掌握时间状语从句。整体知识量较大,时间状语从句引导词比较多,学生记忆有一定的困难,能力和基础稍弱的学生掌握的不是很好,需要在今后的教学中不断提醒,加强练习巩固。
