1.After I had pictured it over and over again in my mind, the big day finally arrived:my first day at senior high! I woke up early and rushed out of the door in my eagerness to get to know my new school.
“over and over again, finally, woke up early, rushed out of, eagerness”等词汇生动描写出了“我”对开学的期待之情,为后文情节的展开埋下了伏笔。
2. The campus was still quiet when I arrived, so I decided to explore a bit.
3.With butterflies in my stomach, I breathed deeply.

The old abandoned house ____________________________________.

2.Turning around, I saw a white haired man.
①I was talking loudly with my classmates in the classroom.Just then my teacher came in.
→I was talking loudly with my classmates in the classroom ___________________________.
②When I looked up, I saw my mother standing before me.
→ , I saw my mother standing before me.

People say, “Well begun, half done.” I guess this was a good beginning to my new school life.
①He wanted to ________________________ but he couldn't help thinking about something.
②People say, “______________________________________” As a result, I won't give up.

High School Study Skills
Excited about starting high school You should be! High school is one of the most fantastic experiences of your life! 8 This is the time when you begin to develop the skills that you will use in college and in the working world. As you go forward in these important years, you should change your study habits and skills.
Improve note-taking skills.
To some degree, high school will bring a new challenge for students who learned to rely on textbooks during junior school. 9 This means students must learn to take notes with careful attention — or the information will be lost! The key to take good notes is identifying the most important things to write down.
10
One skill that doesn't get so much attention is the ability to really listen! In order to take good class notes, you need to listen carefully in class and mark each word that is repeated.Once you learn to become an active listener, you will be able to study much better.
Get ready for class discussions.
As you are preparing for the next day, write down anything that might be worth a good discussion. 11 When classroom discussions do arise, you should record important points on different opinions. This is the sort of thing that will pay off on your test.
Get more organized.
In junior school you learned to use many folders, and you met different teaching styles. This continues in high school; you will have to become more organized and take on much more responsibilities when it comes to keeping track of homework. 12
A.Learn how to listen better.
B.Be prepared to discuss further.
C.Think about what to note down.
D.Remember to increase your test's preparation time.
E.In fact, high school sets the stage for college and adulthood.
F.It's important to keep checklists to complete all of your homework.
G.In high school, teachers will introduce some new ideas beyond textbooks.

Beautiful weather, friendly people and a widely varied landscape are just a few of the reasons you should choose to spend time in Australia as a high school student. Here are some programs you can choose from.
High School Exchange
Individuals studying for a semester or full year in Australia will usually live with a host family. This is a great opportunity for students to see what daily family life is like in Australia.Students learning English will see their language skills improve from communicating with their new friends and family, while those familiar with the language already can use this opportunity to learn more about the day to day life in Australia.
Youth Travel Tours
Travel tours for teens are a wonderful way for high school students to spend a short, concentrated amount of time abroad.Tours are usually for different themes such as cooking, adventure travel, or volunteerism.Students will have a fun, unique experience while incorporating educational components like environmental or cultural studies — and all without missing your normal coursework back home.

What a day! I started at my new school this morning and had the best time.I made lots of new friends and really liked my teachers.I was nervous the night before, but I had no reason to be.Everyone was so friendly and polite. They made me feel at ease.It was like I'd been at the school for a hundred years!
The day started very early at 7:00 am.I had my breakfast downstairs with my mom.She could tell that I was very nervous.Mom kept asking me what was wrong. She told me I had nothing to worry about and that everyone was going to love me.If they didn't love me, Mom said to send them her way for a good talking to.I couldn't stop laughing.
My mom dropped me off at the school gates about five minutes before the bell.A little blonde (金发的) girl got dropped off at the same time and started waving (招手) at me.She ran over and told me her name was Abigail. She was very nice and we became close straight away.We spent all morning together and began to talk to another girl called Stacey. The three of us sat together in class all day and we even made our way home together! It went so quickly. Our teacher told us that tomorrow we would really start learning and developing new skills.
I cannot wait until tomorrow and feel as though I am really going to enjoy my time at my new school.I only hope that my new friends feel the same way, too.
