1.I was born with asthma and I never thought I'd be a runner!
赏析:be born with sth. born的常见搭配还有:be born in, be born into, be born+形容词。
2.It lists your performance against other runners in your social network.
3.Soon, I found that I was not alone — I came across other runners in the same area running for the same purpose!
4.As a computer engineer, there's always a new challenge just around the corner!
Who is our favourite football team playing against tomorrow
________________________________________________________________________
When we surf the Internet, we often ______________ such English words as “ASAP” and “AFK”.

Not so long ago, I didn't do any exercise — not even any jogging! Then I discovered an app called Running Power. It lists your performance against other runners in your social network. At first, I kept running just to see my name in the top five. Soon, I found that I was not alone — I came across other runners in the same area running for the same purpose! Now I no longer use the app, but I've fallen in love with running, and still do it with my running friends.
赏析:本段中使用时间顺序词“Not so long ago,Then, At first, Soon, Now”条理清晰地描述了Sarah喜欢上跑步的过程。
Whether I'm at the gym or on the road,my nervous energy pushes me through mile one. By mile two, the tension has moved from my mind to my legs. By the end of the run, all my stress has disappeared and I'm ready to face the next day at work!
from ... to ...

A
As Hallee McCoombes approaches the finish line of the 800-metre run for kids with disability in the School Sport Australia Track & Field Championships in Brisbane, the crowd is cheering wildly and shouting her name. With only ten metres to go, Hallee tunes out all the noise and pushes forward with her strength. She doesn't have any feeling in her
waist or below her knees, but pain burns her upper legs. When Hallee crosses the finish line, her twin, Jada, hugs her in her arms. “You came in third!” she says to Hallee.
Born with spina bifida (脊柱裂), Hallee had immediate surgery to repair her spinal cord and close her back. As months passed, the McCoombes were surprised to see Hallee hitting her developmental milestones shortly after Jada did: talking, rolling over, crawling (爬).
“Her only big delay was walking.” says Gavin, her father. But Hallee had a secret weapon: a twin sister she wanted to keep up with. “Jada definitely helped her with her disability.” Once Hallee started walking on her own at age three, her determination to keep up with Jada only grew stronger.
Shortly after the McCoombes moved to Elliott Heads, Jada said that she wanted to be a runner. After watching Jada's first training session of Little Athletics, Hallee turned to her parents and said, “I can do that, too. Sign me up.”
Would she even be able to run “She has problems with her balance and her muscle power.” explains Gavin, “which means she had to work hard to maintain upper leg muscle and core support.” But Hallee's parents had such strong belief in her that they signed her up. Sure enough, soon she was running with Jada.
Hallee's love for athletics helped her both physically and mentally. When asked what she would say to other children with disability, Hallee offers two powerful pieces of advice: “Don't listen when people say you can't do something. And, try your best.”

No history of Wushu in the West African state of Liberia would be complete without mentioning one man. He has devoted his life to Chinese martial arts. As a martial arts lover, Pewee Russian was determined to change his country's perception of Chinese martial arts, seen by many as a violent foreign culture.
Against all difficulties, Russian devoted his life to learning Wushu and by the late 1990s he was becoming an expert. At that time, fewer than five people in the entire country were taking an interest in Wushu, he says. As a boy, Russian lived with his foster parents, who attempted to distract him from martial arts. He found it “tiring and challenging” to keep his mind on Wushu. They told him that learning martial arts was a dead end, but nevertheless he persisted.
When civil war began ravaging the country at the end of 1990, it proved a setback for his Wushu studies. When the war was over, after more than 15 years, Wushu was almost extinct. However, Russian still carried the passion in his heart.
“One of the things that really drew me closer to Chinese martial arts is the discipline, the culture — it makes your mind disciplined.I think Wushu is my calling,” he says.
In 2010, the Chinese embassy in Monrovia awarded him a short-term study course at the Shaolin Temple. When he returned to his country in 2011,Russian led efforts to establish the Liberia National Wushu Association. He won an international medal on behalf of his country in 2016 at the Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Festival. Since then, as a master, he has been inspiring others to share his enthusiasm. Russian is now the face of martial arts in Liberia.
However, Russian still regrets failing to attend the Beijing Olympics in 2008. He was the third best martial artist on the African continent that year but lack of finance kept him away from the games.
To make up for this lost opportunity, he is working diligently to train the next generation of champions, ensuring that he keeps the spirit of Wushu alive in the country.

Many teens in high school want to try out for sports because they think it will make them popular. 9 Here are some reasons that you'll find comforting.
With electronic products becoming more popular, it has become much easier for teens to be by themselves. Kids used to hang out around the town; now they just sit at home. 10 In this case, they'll learn how to interact and work as a team — something they'll find useful later in life.
11 Playing a team sport will help your teens get some exercise to lose weight or get into shape. What's more, these days, it's becoming harder to show your teens that you love and support them. A great way to do this is by showing up while they are playing games. You can also help them practice, and help with team fundraising. These are also great ways to spend time with your kids and talk to them.
You may say “but my teen isn't good enough to make their school team”. 12 There are plenty of other places besides school to play team sports. You can always check out other “for-fun” clubs. You could look into sports that you may not have thought of. If you do a little research, you're sure to find something your teen will enjoy.
Sports are a great way for your teens to get out of the house, get moving, make friends, and even get a scholarship to college. 13
A.Take it easy.
B.Take your chance.
C.Sports help address teens' overweight.
D.Then how can you develop a hobby in having sports
E.So why not talk to them about getting into sports today
F.However, there are other benefits your teens don't realize.
G.Yet getting into a sport gives them a chance to go out and socialize.
