M：Jack London.He was born into a poor family in San Francisco in 1876.He left school at fourteen, and became a sailor, a hunter, and an explorer.In 1897 he went to the Klondike in Canada.London found adventures that he put into his most famous stories and novels.London continued to travel until a few years before his death in 1916.Now I'm reading his story Love of Life.I'm sure you will like his works.

Tonight, we'll talk about a great woman in the field of literature.Toni Morrison was an African-American writer, born in Ohio in 1931.Morrison graduated from Howard University in 1953 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.And she earned a master's degree in American literature from Cornell University in 1955.In 1967, she became the first black woman to work as a senior editor for a famous publishing company.
Three years later, in 1970, she published her first book, The Bluest Eye.In the following years, she published masterpieces like Song of Solomon, Tar Baby and Beloved, and she became a world-famous author.She wrote eleven novels.She also wrote children's books, plays, poetry and books about literature, society and politics.In 1993, her literary greatness was recognized by the Nobel Prize in Literature.Toni Morrison won around forty national and international rewards.But may be the most moving honor was that in 2019, her birthplace Lorain decided to make February 18th, her birthday, Toni Morrison Day.

Dian Fossey was an American zoologist who studied gorillas in Africa.Her research and life in the mountain forests of Rwanda made her famous.She wrote a book about her work, Gorillas in the Mist.A major Hollywood studio paid her a million dollars for the movie rights.Her being killed in 1985 had to be added to the film.Fossey was born in 1932.She became interested in animals from a very early age.
At university, she studied occupational therapy, which would help her later research.She became interested in Africa in her late twenties.She took out a loan and went to Tanzania, where she met the man who would change her life, Dr Louis Leakey.Fossey was encouraged by Dr Leakey to carry out long-term research on mountain gorillas.In 1967, she set up the Karisoke Research Centre in the remote Rwanda rain forest.She became internationally famous in 1970 after appearing on the cover of National Geographic magazine.It brought huge publicity for her campaign to protect the mountain gorillas and save them from disappearing.

Last week was memorable because our class organized an activity called “Feel the Spirit of Craftsmen”．
Early in the morning, the school bus took us to the Wood Culture Inheritance Garden. On arrival, the guide showed us around the exhibition hall, giving a specific introduction about wood culture, which drew our attention and aroused everyone's interest. We couldn't wait to have a try ourselves. We worked together to make a chair. Besides, we got a taste of carving Chinese characters on a piece of wood. It was such a wonderful and meaningful day that we benefited a lot.
On the way back, we shared our art works and feelings in our online group. I hope our class can organize more activities like this.

“If only I hadn't broken the machine.I really enjoy working in the factory.All the people there are kind to me，” he thought sadly as he was riding back.However, luck was not on Sam's side that day.His bike suddenly had a flat tire (爆胎)．Feeling depressed, Sam stood by the side of the road.He started to regret choosing to run away.And he was worried that if his parents knew he had broken the machine and chosen to escape, they would be angry with him.
Suddenly, someone called out to him, “Sam, why are you standing here？” It was Uncle Tim, who happened to be passing by on his way home.Sam was shocked to see him.“Uncle Tim, I want to go home but my bike has a flat tire，” Sam answered nervously.
Uncle Tim suggested that he and Sam go to the town and have the bike repaired.Sam was thankful to Uncle Tim for his help.When they walked towards the town, pushing the bike, Uncle Tim found Sam was nervous and anxious.He asked Sam to relax and told him it was an easy task to repair the bike.
Later, Sam took a deep breath and began to tell the truth to Uncle Tim.“It isn't because of the broken bike.I ...I made a mistake in the factory.I broke a machine.Worrying that I would be punished and have to compensate (赔偿) for the damage, I ran away from the factory，” Sam said sadly.
