I have heard having a good sense of humour often helps in breaking the ice. Also people remember you because of your humour. But I think I don't have a very good sense of humour. Could you suggest how to build on this —Radha Karnik
This is a great question that is unfortunately difficult to answer. I can only give you my views on this topic, which may or may not be correct. I know that I enhanced my sense of humour over time.
When I was younger I was not funny at all, but now I can easily make people laugh. Sometimes I say things that I think are very funny but others do not. Improving wit and humour, I believe, is an ongoing process.
Now, there are various forms of humour and everyone has their individual style. Overall, I believe being fluent in a language is very important for being witty or funny. The way we play around with words adds the “funny” tag to an otherwise normal sentence. Also, seeing irony is very important. I think humour is often the link between two unrelated things.
In my experience, laughing frequently and appreciating other people's jokes and wit are very important. Within these, finding humour in everyday normal situations is the key.
I often notice what is going on around me and say funny things in my head and laugh to myself. That serves almost as practice for when I am in a group. I watch comedy shows and movies and I am sure that has some influence on helping me improve my sense of humour.
And last, having confidence that you are humorous is important. There will always be someone funnier than you, which is fine. Just work on building your own style.
Remember, if you are trying to be funny and witty in order to break the ice at a business function, be careful. In those situations, humour has to be mild and politically correct.
Yours,
Brad

Laughter is the best medicine. It helps solve problems, improve relationships, and support both physical and emotional health. 1 Read the following suggestions and learn to make laughter part of your life.
Laugh at yourself. Laughing at yourself is one of the biggest differences between happy people and unhappy people. It tells both you and the people around you that it's no big deal. So be brave enough to share the moments when you feel embarrassed. 2 When something negative happens, try to make it a humorous story that will make you and others laugh.
3 Keep a toy on your desk or in your car. Put up a funny poster in your office. Choose a computer screensaver(屏幕保护程序) that makes you laugh. Frame photos of you and your family or friends having fun. All of these are good sources of laughter.
Spend time with funny people. Even if you don't consider yourself a humorous person, you can still seek out new friends who are ready to laugh and who can make you laugh. These are people who find humour in everyday events. Their playful points of view and laughter are contagious
Don't spend a day without laughing. Set aside 10 minutes each day to do something that amuses you. You can watch some humorous videos or look at some funny photos online. 5 Try thinking back to a joke you heard or read, or a comedy you watched.
As long as you have a joyful heart and purposely make time to laugh, you'll be amazed how differently you will begin to view your job, your family, your relationships and yourself.

从第二段中的“I know that I enhanced my sense of humour over time.”

上文中的“Laugh at yourself.”与F项中的“laugh at your awkward situations”呼应,“embarrassed”与“awkward”呼应。
3.A 主旨句。
B项中的“recall”与下文中的“thinking back to”呼应,B项中的“something funny”与下文中的“joke”和“comedy”呼应。
负面的;否定的 3.seek out找到 4.point of view观点;态度;意见 5.set aside留出 6.amazed adj.
As long as you have a joyful heart and purposely make time to laugh, you'll be amazed how differently you will begin to view your job, your family, your relationships and yourself.

A.心情;B.开始;C.理论。
