Her passion for the field was inspired after witnessing the difficulties faced by her fellow villagers. “I saw how difficult it was for my family to access medical treatment in inland areas — long journeys, language barriers, and cultural differences made it even harder,” she said. When she arrived at the Yangla Town health center in September 2021, she was struck by the isolation (隔绝) of the area. Her accommodation is a simple room inside the inpatient ward. Other than a barbecue restaurant, there are no other entertainment options in town.Although Yangla Town has a small population, its villages are spread across more than 1,000 square kilometers, often requiring several hours of travel by car to reach each one. This made Nasheng aware that even though the village had a health station, many residents still struggled to reach it due to the area’s vastness. “What if there were another station here ” she wondered. After submitting a proposal, and with support from the local government, a basic health station was established in June 2022. “Now the service station has moved into a new building, and a village doctor is seeing patients there,” Nasheng said. The Yangla Town health center also organizes mobile free clinics in different villages every month, supported by a committed team of over 20 staff members.Looking ahead, she hopes to continue her studies. “I want to pursue a master’s degree and learn more about acupuncture (针灸) techniques,” she said. “But no matter what, I’ll always come back — this is my home.”4. What motivated Nasheng to study Tibetan medicine A. Cultural differences. B. Healthcare challenges.C. Her family’s pressure. D. Fellow villagers’ poverty.5. What can we know about Yangla Town A. It is cut off from big cities. B. It is an entertainment center.C. It has various medical facilities. D. It has a concentrated population.6. How did Nasheng improve healthcare A. By launching an initiative. B. By training a medical team.C. By building a new health station. D. By organizing mobile free clinics.7. What might be the best title for the text A. Home Above 3,000 Meters B. Building Trust in a Remote VillageC. The Challenges of Rural Medical Services D. Bringing Hope to a Remote Mountain TownCMusicality may have emerged in a common ancestor of chimps (大猩猩) and humans, as both species share similarities in how they drum (打鼓).Catherine Hobaiter at the University of St Andrews, UK, and her teammates examined 371 examples of drumming from two of Africa’s four chimp subspecies: the western chimp and the eastern chimp. They observed that chimps use their hands and feet to produce rapid-fire drumming, often on buttress roots, during activities like resting, travelling or making threat displays. The researchers found that chimps drum much faster than most humans. “The longest drum we recorded was over 5 seconds, while the shortest was less than 0.1 seconds,” says Hobaiter.Despite these differences chimps show some of the core building blocks of human musical rhythm (节奏), says team member Vesta Eleuteri at the University of Vienna, Austria .“They drum with rhythm, as opposed to randomly, and they use a typical rhythm observed across musical cultures called isochrony, consisting of hits that are regularly spaced, like the ticking of a clock.” The team also found that the two subspecies drummed with different rhythms.Miguel Llorente at the University of Girona in Spain says the idea that different subspecies show distinct drumming styles is appealing. “It opens the door to thinking about these patterns not just as individual habits, but potentially as cultural differences in how groups use drumming as a communicative tool.”“We don’t mean that chimp drumming shows the complexity of modern human musical rhythms,” says Hobaiter. “But this is the first time that we’ve been able to show that they share the same rhythmic building blocks, making it likely that rhythm was a part of our social world long before we became human.” “Until recently, it was argued that rhythmicity was unique to humans,” says Gisela Kaplan at the University of New England, Australia. “We now have plenty of evidence that this is not the case.”8. Why did Hobaiter’s team study chimp drumming A. It is similar to human drumming. B. Chimps drum faster than humans.C. It is different between two subspecies. D. Chimps play drum during many activities.9. What did researchers discover about chimp drumming A. It is a conversation tool.B. It is performed randomly.C. Different subspecies show distinct rhythms.D. Chimps use drumming to avoid cultural conflicts.10. What can we know from the last paragraph A. Rhythmicity was unique to humans.B. Human invented rhythmic building blocks.C. Chimps developed rhythmic sense by observing humans.D. Chimps share the same rhythmic building blocks as humans.11. What is Gisela Kaplan’s attitude towards the finding A. Doubtful. B. Supportive. C. Unclear. D. Critical.DLearning how to regulate negative emotions like anxiety could ease chronic (慢性的) pain. Scientists have found that a form of therapy (疗法) that partly focuses on tolerating pain relieved ongoing discomfort more effectively than existing treatments.“Chronic pain is more than a sensory experience; it’s incredibly emotional,” says Nell Norman-Nott at the University of New South Wales, Australia. “We see increased levels of anxiety and depression in up to about 80 percent of people with chronic pain.” This leads to a “vicious cycle”, where pre-pain increases negative emotions, which then worsen pain, she says.To see if they could break the cycle, Norman-Nott and her team used a programme that focused on mindfulness, emotion regulation and pain tolerance. Eighty-nine people with chronic pain, lasting 16 years on average, were randomised to receive either the programme, delivered by a therapist through an eight-week online course, while continuing with any treatments they were already receiving, such as medication or physical therapy, or to just continue with their usual treatment.Nine weeks later, those in the therapy group experienced an improvement in emotional regulation of about 5 points more than those in the control group. The intensity of their pain also started to lessen at week 9, and by 21 weeks they experienced significantly less pain than those in the control group.“I think that’s interesting and promising,” says Benedict Alter at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It could also help people with limited access to inperson care, he says. “It’s great that they did this as internet-based. It’s a huge problem that there are small numbers of providers who do therapy, and they tend to be in urban areas.”Exactly how the therapy reduces pain is unclear, says Alter, but “at any given pain intensity, if you had better emotional regulation, people’s overall lives would be better: less suffering, less functional limitation. I think pain intensity decreases as everything gets better.” The mechanism could be uncovered in larger studies, he says.12. What does “vicious cycle” refer to A. People with chronic pain are increasing.B Regulating negative emotions eases chronic pain.C. Chronic pain and negative emotions worsen each other.D. The new therapy is more effective than existing treatments.13. How did Norman-Nott’s team prove the therapy’s effectiveness A. By observing the usual treatment. B. By contrasting week 9 and week 21 results.C. By stopping usual treatments for participants. D. By comparing therapy and control group results.14. Why is the therapy “promising” according to Benedict Alter A. It provides training to the urban therapists. B. It focuses on in-person therapy improvements.C. It aids those with limited in-person care access. D. It equips patients in rural areas with internet skills.15. What might the future studies focus on A. Investigating how the therapy reduces pain. B. Comparing online therapy with in-person care.C. Analyzing the effects of the eight-week course. D. Testing the therapy on patients with intense pain.第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。Beginning a journey can be an enlightening experience, especially for students. ___16___ It’s a transformative and educational adventure.New Experiences that Inspire LearningImagine standing in the shadow of ancient architecture, hearing tales of its history whispered by the winds that have swept through the ages. ___17___ Student travel brings textbooks to life, allowing students to witness the world’s wonders firsthand. The World as Our Greatest Teacher___18___ The world becomes a classroom where lessons are taught through interactions, observations. One of the students was on a football team that needed a member. She overheard me talking about how I had always wanted to play football, but never got the chance. The student offered to let me come and try out.I was excited and scared. Excited at the thought of doing something I had always wanted to do, but scared I was too out of shape and too old to keep up with athletic twenty-year-olds. There was no harm trying out, though. I agreed to be on the field for practice. My husband and children thought I was crazy but I didn’t care. It was something I had to do for myself. It was a now or never moment. My job at the university was secretary, so I spent all day there, sitting and typing. Doing homework all evening after sitting all day caused a big loss to my health. My son was playing high school football, my daughter took some dance classes and I had all the mom responsibilities too. Between going to games, dance classes, and house work, finding time for me seemed impossible, but I knew playing football with kids would be the only chance.I showed up with butterflies in my stomach and low expectations on the selection day. I was slow and I was out of breath very easily, but my desire to do this made me drive forward. Once the coaches and the players sized up my abilities, they would determine the position I’d play. Surprisingly, no one else showed up to compete for that position, so without question, it was mine.I couldn’t have been happier! They took my shirt size, number and my team name. I chose “Mama Platt” because it is what a couple of the students called me, and I chose my dad’s football number from high school: 74. I still remember the moment when I stood in a sport ing goods store picking out athletic shoes. Was this really happening I couldn’t believe it. These girls were actually going to let me be a part of the team!注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。I started practicing early every day.____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________The first game of the season came.____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________临沂市2023级普通高中学科素养水平检测考试英语答案第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分)1-10 CACCB ABCBA 11-20 ACBCA BABAB第二部分 阅读(共两节,满分50分)第一节(共15小题;每小题2.5分,满分37.5分)阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。A【1~3题答案】【答案】1. It’s a wonderful initiative that will promote environmental awareness and sustainable habits among students. To make it more effective, I suggest placing clearly labeled recycling stations in busy areas such as the cafeteria, dormitories, and library. It may also help to organize regular clean-up days or recycling drives, where students can actively take part in waste sorting. Additionally, training student volunteers as “Green Ambassadors” would help spread the message and foster a sense of shared responsibility.I truly look forward to seeing the positive changes this project will bring to our campus.Yours,Li Hua第二节(满分25分)【47题答案】【答案】I started practicing early every day. I arrived early, jogging laps and stretching sore muscles. My legs ached, and my lungs burned, but I kept going. Every drop of sweat reminded me that a big game was coming, and I had to be ready. Some younger players helped me with my stance and catching. “You’ve got heart, Mama Platt,” one said after I finally caught the ball. That moment lit something inside me. With the first game of the season just around the corner, I trained even harder, hoping I could truly contribute to the team. The first game of the season came. I stood on the field in my “Mama Platt” jersey, number 74 glowing. I could almost feel some skeptical glances, but I knew I had to focus on the game for my team, especially for myself. During the whole match, we work together, chase the ball actively. The buzzer sounded as I goaled a ball. The whole team erupted in cheers. Teammates held me up, chanting “Mama Platt!” My family screamed from the stands, and I laughed, sweat dripping down my face. Finally, I was part of a team — and we’d won. 展开更多...... 收起↑ 资源预览
