Unit1 Period 3 Section A Grammar Focus(3a-3c)
【教学分析】
教学内容 动词过去式的问与答;不定代词的运用。
核心素养 1. 学生能够用 did 造一般疑问句并回答;能够认识不定代词在问句与陈述句中的不同用法,以及形容词修饰不定代词的用法。
2. 学生能够运用不定代词填空,完成对话。
3. 学生能够运用不定代词完成句子,并运用句子组句成篇。
4. 学生能够运用不定代词续编故事。
重点难点 重点:掌握一般过去时在一般疑问句中的变化规则;掌握不定代词在问句与陈述句中的不同用法,以及形容词修饰不定代词的用法。
难点:灵活运用动词的过去式和不定代词进行实际的对话交流以及故事编写。
【教学过程】
Step 1 Lead-in
1. Begin the class by asking questions: Hello, everyone! If you have a chance to take a holiday, what would you like to do/eat/visit…
2. Take himself/herself as an example, telling students what he/she did/ate/visited.
Step 2 Work on 3a
1. Read aloud the sentences provided and ask students to find out the same points among the sentences. Discuss the answers together.
2. Ask students to circle all the indefinite pronouns. Explain the function and usage of them in sentences and provide more examples.
Step 3 Work on 3b
1. Complete the conversation with the correct indefinite pronouns.
2. Check the answers and explain the reason why the indefinite pronouns are used in this way. The answers are: anything, nothing, Someone, anyone, something.
3. Ask students to practise reading the dialogue aloud and have students work in pairs to role-play the conversation.
Step 4 Work on 3c
1. Complete the passage with the correct indefinite pronouns. Check the answers, they are: everyone, no one, nothing, everything, something, someone.
2. Ask students to read the passage aloud and pay attention to the indefinite pronouns. Then read again.
3. Have students discuss together about the story according to the following questions: What do you think of the writer's holiday Why do you think so
Group Activity
1. Divide the students into groups. Ask each group to discuss and continue the story in 3c with their imagination. Teacher should make sure they use indefinite pronouns and encourage them to use the following phrases: (1) Went somewhere interesting. (2) Did something interesting. (3) Ate something special. (4) Met someone lovely.
2. Ask a few groups to share their stories before class. Teacher pay attention to correct the usage of indefinite pronouns and the simple past tense.
3. Teacher chooses the best groups according to their accuracy, fluency, content, and give your evaluation before class.
Step 5 Summary
Recap the key points learnt today, including the usage of the simple past tense to the general interrogative sentence, the function and usage of indefinite pronouns in sentences.
Step 6 Homework
Assign students to write a short story about their favourite holiday with indefinite pronouns.
