三、阅读理解(每小题2分,满分30分)
A
Why are children so much more creative than adults How does that creativity disappear later What other great ideas do children have
For children, everything is possible. What's more, young children get praise and encouragement from their parents and teachers for almost any work they do particularly for imaginative stories or weird pieces of art. They have heard tales of magic and they see technology around them doing all kinds of amazing things. Every problem can be solved for them. On the other hand, adults are only too well versed in what they cannot achieve and what cannot be done. They are surrounded by rules, regulations, and laws. They have experienced failures and shame. At some stage, they have worked for a difficult boss who was not interested in their ideas-just in getting the job done on time.
If we want to be truly creative, we need to think like children again. We need to imagine a perfect solution and then ask "Why not " The daughter of Edwin Land asked this question when he told her that she could not see the photo he had taken straight away. Her persistence led him to invent the Polaroid camera. In similar fashion 11-year-old Richie asked, "Why can't we speak to each other underwater " He invented an underwater speaking device. They show the need of having a childlike mind.
Of course, every invention or innovation has to be in a world of limitations. But if we start by imagining an ideal solution and then work back to overcome or accommodate limitations, then we will have a better chance of success than if we start with all the obstacles in a clear view.
Be creative and try thinking just like a child. You did it all the time once, so now do it again.

(2025·福州期中改编)During the two sessions, a founder of China's tech company X called for more e-waste recycling plans in China.
"China should set up different recycling strategies to make full use of the huge number of unwanted smartphones and computers to reduce the country's carbon footprint(碳足迹)," the founder told CCTV News.
According to the 2020 UN Global E-waste Monitor, the world's e-waste will reach 74.7 million tons by 2030. That's almost a doubling of e-waste in just 16 years.
The report also found that only 17.4 per cent of the world's e-waste was collected and recycled in 2019. This means that gold, silver and other high-value materials were mostly burned or dumped (丢弃) instead of being reused. It's a waste of 57 billion dollars, or 360 billion yuan. E-waste can also harm the environment and people's health. For example, one mobile phone battery can pollute 60,000 litres of water.
China is now the world's largest producer of e-waste, followed by the USA, India and Japan. Tech companies are looking for different ways to solve the problem. For example, USA Company A built a robot called Daisy. It can dissemble 200 phones in an hour. Previously(以前) the phones were cut up before people took the useful materials out. Now with Daisy, valuable materials can be pulled out more easily.
Company S plans to use recycled materials in all of its new products by the year pany X also plans to set up e-waste recycling platforms so that people can donate or sell their old electronics more easily.

(2025·济南三模)A bell rings at 7 p.m every evening in Mohityache Avadgaon village in India, telling people that it is time for everyone to turn off screen device(设备), like televisions and mobile phones. At 8:30 p.m the bell rings the second time, telling the 3,000 villagers that screen-free time is over. The leaders of the village introduced it so that young people could focus on their homework and not be influenced by funny videos or phone messages. However, some say that a screen simply allows people to get information-it is not harmful in itself. A person can decide for themselves when to put down a device. So should you set limits on screen time
Yes-screen time should be limited
Phones, computers and TV are great ways for getting information and lots of fun. However, they can be addictive(使人成瘾的) and some people need help to break from them. Even if people are chatting on their phone or playing online games together, they can still feel lonely. Screen-free time means people can connect with family and friends in the real world. It's also a great chance for people to go outside and be active, which is good for their health. Too much screen time can lead to other problems, such as not sleeping properly and being short on creativity.
No-people can manage their screen time
Through devices like phones and computers, people can find answers to many questions. Screen time can be productive-you can read great works of literature(文学), discover wonderful facts or read about important things happening in the world. It is great for homework and curious minds. Electronic devices also allow friends and family to stay in touch. Most people naturally take screen breaks, for example when they eat or exercise. People should be free to judge for themselves how much screen time they should have.
Now that you've read a lot about it, tell us what you think on the website. Choose YES if you think screen time should be limited, or NO if you don't. We'll show the results next week.

(2025·扬州中考)A total of 23 spotted seals(斑海豹)were put back into the waters off the coast of Dalian in Northeast China's Liaoning Province on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, as part of China's continuous efforts to protect endangered wildlife.
The seals were hunted and sold, but have now been saved and marked for future protection. A fishery law enforcement ship arrived at the sea area near Dalian in the morning, carrying the spotted seals. The seals were let go free one by one into the sea. They swam freely in the water, returning to their natural home.
Spotted seals are nationally protected animals in China. They are the only kind of seals that can breed (繁殖) in Chinese waters. Like migratory (迁徙的) birds, they appear around October every year in Liaodong Bay, and take the long journey back to the Northwest Pacific in May after breeding. They are often considered as the "panda of the sea".
Thanks to China's top - class national protection in recent years, the population of spotted seals in Chinese waters has reached around 2,000, while the global population is between 400,000 and 600,000. Studies have shown that these 2,000 spotted seals are of great importance for the study and research on spotted seals.
To protect this rare animal and its ecological environment, the Liaoning Dalian Spotted Seal Wetlands were set up in 1992. In January 2002, they were included in the List of Wetlands of International Importance. Covering an area of 560,000 hectares with a coastline of about 370 kilometres, the wetlands are rich in biological resources. They have become home to nationally protected animals such as the spotted seals, finless porpoises, killer whales, false killer whales, common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and East Asian river dolphins.
Since 1992, researchers in Dalian have successfully saved 388 spotted seals and put 299 of them back into the wild.
