Read the story. What is Emma’s adventure
Emma felt lonely at her new school. She liked writing and wanted to make friends through it. So she left a notebook in the library to have someone else write more for her story. At last, someone advised her to start a writing group on the last page of the notebook.

1. Oliver was awake at midnight. Oliver半夜醒着。
awake adj. 醒着的
在句中作表语，可与be动词或stay等动词连用。

wake v. 醒来；叫醒

lonely adj. 孤单的，寂寞的，既可作表语也可作定语。
alone adj. 单独的；独自的 adv. 单独地；独自地
alone侧重陈述“独自的”客观事实，而lonely侧重于描述“孤独的，寂寞的”情感体验。
