1. Knowledge Objectives Students will be able to master and use key vocabulary related to hobbies, such as “hobby, interest, collect, play, enjoy, benefit” etc. For example, they can correctly use these words in sentences like “My hobby is collecting stamps.” and “I enjoy playing football.” Students will fully understand the usage of the present simple tense when describing habits, hobbies and general facts. They can accurately use the present simple tense to express their own and others' hobbies, like “She plays the piano every Sunday.” and “We often read books after school.” Students will understand the main ideas and details of the text about hobbies, and be able to extract important information from the reading materials. 2. Ability Objectives Develop students' comprehensive language skills, including listening, speaking, reading and writing. They can listen to conversations about hobbies and catch key information, express their own hobbies and related ideas fluently in speaking, understand reading materials about hobbies, and write a short passage to introduce their hobbies with correct grammar and rich details. Through group discussions and presentations, improve students' teamwork and communication skills. They can actively participate in group activities, contribute their own ideas, listen to others' opinions, and jointly complete group tasks. Also, they can present their group's ideas clearly and confidently in front of the class. Cultivate students' critical thinking ability. They can think about the benefits of hobbies from different perspectives, analyze and evaluate different hobbies, and express their own unique views. 3. 1. Teaching Key Points The correct usage of key vocabulary related to hobbies. Teachers need to help students understand the meaning, collocation and usage of these words through various examples and exercises. At the same time, it can also activate students' prior knowledge related to hobbies and lay a foundation for the following teaching content.
Step 2: Presentation (10 minutes) Activity: Show some word cards with key vocabulary about hobbies on the PPT, such as “hobby, interest, collect, play, enjoy, benefit”. First, read the words aloud and ask students to repeat after the teacher. Then, divide students into pairs. One student randomly picks a word card and uses actions or simple descriptions to let the partner guess the word. For example, if the word is “collect”, the student can pretend to pick up something and put it in a box. Design Intention: Through this interactive way of vocabulary review, students can deepen their memory of words. The pair - work can also improve students' participation and communication ability, and make the vocabulary learning more interesting.

Then, give students some prompts, like “he / play basketball / after school” and “we / watch TV / in the evening”, and ask them to make sentences in the present simple tense. Let students write the sentences on the exercise books and then invite several students to write their sentences on the blackboard for correction and explanation. Design Intention: Reviewing grammar in the context of the text can make students understand the practical application of grammar better. Step 5: Summary & Homework (5 minutes) Activity: Summarize the key points of this class with students, including important vocabulary, the usage of the present simple tense, and the main ideas about hobbies. Then, assign homework: ask students to write a short passage about their own hobbies, including what their hobbies are, why they like them, and what benefits they have got from their hobbies. They should use at least 5 key words and correct grammar. Design Intention: The summary can help students review and consolidate the knowledge learned in this class. The homework assignment can further strengthen students' understanding and application of the knowledge, and improve their writing ability.
