　　Last Thursday, I was walking home from school alone. The wind was blowing hard, and I was crossing the park when I heard a small sound. Some kids were playing soccer nearby, but they didn’t hear the sound.
I found a cat under a bench (长凳). It was shaking because of the cold weather. I was holding it carefully when a kind lady came. She was walking her dog. “That cat was hiding here all day,” she said. “I tried to help it, but it ran away.”
We were talking about what to do when the cat stopped shaking. I decided to carry it home. Now this little cat lives with me. I call it Sunny!

用法总结　
1.后缀-ful 在英语中主要用作形容词后缀,表示“充满……的”,其核心含义源于full (满的),现多用于描述抽象概念,如hopeful (充满希望的)。
2.后缀-less 通常表示“无”或“不”的含义,通常附加在名词后构成形容词,如thoughtless (欠考虑的)。

用法总结　过去进行时
1.定义:表示在过去某一时刻或某一段时间内正在进行的动作。例如:
It was raining hard at that time.那个时候正在下大雨。
I was doing my homework when my father arrived home.我父亲到家的时候我正在写作业。
2.基本结构:主语+was/were+动词-ing。主语是第一人称单数或第三人称单数用was,其余用were。
3.标志词:句子中表示过去某个时间点/段的状语,如at this/that time yesterday、then、at 7 p.m.、last night、all day、from nine to ten yesterday、when/while+句子等。
知识拓展　
1.肯定句:主语+was/were+doing。例如:
She was eating bread at that time.那个时候她正在吃面包。
2.否定句:主语+was/were+not+doing。
例如:
She was not eating bread at that time.那个时候她没有在吃面包。
3.一般疑问句:Was/Were+主语+doing。
一般疑问句的肯定回答:Yes, 主语+was/were。
一般疑问句的否定回答:No, 主语+was/were+not。例如:
—Was she eating bread at that time ——那个时候她正在吃面包吗
—Yes, she was.——是的,她在吃。/—No, she wasn’t.——不,她没在吃。
