A, B, C和D语篇在难度上总体呈递增态分布，有利于考生发挥自己的水平。
A篇一般为非连续性的文本，应用文体裁。有时候看不懂文章也可作对题目。
简单的A篇
2024新课标II卷21. Which walk takes the shortest time 只需认识 “shortest”即可轻松答题，因为walk 4 时间最短—1.5 hours ,故选D项。
2024新课标浙江卷21. Who wrote the music for “ Tom Sawyer: A River Adventure” 根据题干who wrote the music 锁定 “music”首次出现时的人名—David Kisor，选择A项。
一般而言，A语篇是所有考生友好性的试题，定位为“高中学业质量水平一”。当然，有时候送分的题目也要高度重视，不要一笔勾过，却失去宝贵的唾手可得的2.5分。
2024年全国甲卷21题就开始挖坑，B选项“It offers art courses for all ages”有三个词与原文重合，干扰性较强。考生要认识 “recreational”这个派生词才可选对C项。
有趣的B篇
2021年新课标I卷B篇—Page Turner. “I’m not a trained musician, but I’ve learnt to read music so I can help Maria in her performance.”(24题出题处）

2023年全国甲卷B篇：DIY(劳动教育）

怀旧的B篇：Kiosk program
2024年新课标II卷B篇 “Do you ever get to the train station and realize you forgot to bring something to read Yes, we all have our phones, but many of us still like to go old school and read something printed.” （How nostalgic is it!)
“You’ll see a kiosk that is lit up and it tells you can get a one-minute, a three- minute, or five- minute story,” says Alicia Trost. “You choose which length you want and it gives you a receipt-like short story.” (25题）（by its length)
……so could short stories save transit
Trost think so.
“At the end of the day all transit agencies right now are doing everything they can to improve the rider experience. So I absolutely think we will get more riders just because of short stories,” She says.(27题）

2024年1月浙江卷：Telephone Box
When was the last time you used a telephone box I mean to make an actual phone call---not to shelter from the rain. Ages ago, right The last time I used a phone box for its intended purpose was----2006. (开始回忆---）
As it has been many years since I last used one, I should hardly be surprised that there are no longer any public telephone near my house. The last one standing has just been turned into a “mini community library ”: any passer-by can “borrow” a book from its shelves, and return it later, or replace it with another title from own collection.(26题）
If I ever get trapped outside my house again, my local telephone box will, sadly, no longer be abel to connect me with my keys.But it can certainly keep me entertained while I wait for my wife to rescue me.
To sum up, passage B is friendly for Level--- B candidates (and above). The passages are set for testing, but above all, are beautiful, tradtional and sometimes interesting to read. Most candidates can read through it without hesitation or difficulty. And for testing’s sake, when candidates look back to find out the sources of the questions, they may find passage B, to some extent, is the most enjoyable( the essay itself, the question stem, the concise choices).
Passage B can be always from print texts, whose languages are straightforward, friendly for Level-B + candidates.

Books (paper or E-book), Book Review
When reading texts of several hundred words or more, learning is gererally more successful when it’s on paper than onscreen.
But equally important is the mental aspect. Reading researchers have proposed a theory called “shallowing hypothesis”. According to this theory, people approach digital texts with a mindset suited to social media, which are often not so serious, and devote less mental effort than when they are reading print. 阅读理解第二节(语篇填空）
语篇填空首先是阅读理解，要读懂语篇，还原语篇后，语篇是连贯自然的。
衔接（Cohesion ) 体现在语篇的表层结构上，语篇的衔接方法有照应（reference)、替代(substitution)、省略(ellipsis)、连接(conjuction)和词汇衔接(lexical cohesion)等（Halliday & Hasan, 1976)
连贯（Coherence)是语篇中语义的关联，它存在于语篇的底层，通过逻辑推理达到语义的连接。
语篇填空首先是阅读理解，要读懂语篇（2021新高考I卷）

文本改写成完型填空的难点
完型填空是由一个合适的语篇改编而成的。它是根据格式塔心理学关于语篇可以还原的原理而设计的。
在我们改写语篇设计完型填空题型的时候，根据试题编写和语篇长度的需要，对原文进行压缩和改写，可能会造成对语篇情节上理解和逻辑上的断层，如2018年卷全国II卷完型填空第50题的答案shaking,实际上与被命题人省掉的原文本信息密切相关，即被救者有癫痫病史，此信息才指向答案shaking（陶百强，2019）
语篇性语法填空（语填）
从主题上，有“传播中华文化，讲好中国故事”的语篇，也有国外的内容。
从语篇来源看，有国内英文媒体的报道，但更多是国外纸质或电子媒体的报道。
从难度来看，语填越来越强调在上下文语境中，考查对文本理解后，再考查语法知识的运用能力（Grammarring)
