Practical Writing——
In a bid to raise our environmental awareness and protect precious wetland resources, a poster design competition themed “Treasure Wetland” is organized by the Students’ Union.
To begin with, it’s the originality, by all means, that becomes the first requirement. Plus, the poster you design should be inspiring, clearly showing the importance of the wetlands and the urgency to protect them. Moreover, a powerful slogan is also preferred, which will make your work more persuasive and impressive.
Those who are keen to this activity are welcome to submit their entries to Pioneer@ before 10th January, 2024. The winning works will be announced on February 2nd, 2024, World Wetland Day, in this newspaper.

Dear Joe,
Hearing that you're passionate about environmental protection , I'm thrilled to share exciting news—our school is launching a Treasure Wetland poster design competition! This event, organized by the Student Union, invites students to creatively advocate for wetland conservation through art.
Firstly , your poster must focus on the theme of wetland protection, such as their ecological role or threats they face. Secondly , it can be either digital or hand-drawn, but must be in A3 size. Thirdly , include a brief description (50 words) explaining your design.
To submit, send your work to artclub@school.edu by October 25 . Winners will be showcased on campus. Let me know if you need help—I’d love to see your creativity!
