Ann Makosinski,a girl from Canada, made a flashlight(手电简)that only uses the heat from your hands as power. The invention won the top prize in last year's Google Science Fair's15-16 age group. Makosinski was just 15 then.
Makosinski has been interested in human energy since Grade 6. She said as humans, we produce heat every minute. She wanted to make use of that to light up the flashlight.
She found a kind of tiles(瓷片).These tiles produce electricity(电)when one side is heated and the other side is cooled.
She put the tiles both inside and outside of the flashlight, Holding it with your hands would make the tiles heat up on one side. At the same time, the air cools the tiles inside the flashlight.
The electricity that was made by the tiles was enough for an LED light, but it did not make so much voltage(电压).Without voltage, flashlights will not light up.

Every day at Misselthwaite Manor was exactly the same as the day before, Mary woke up in her room and Martha was making a fire.
