Imagine this picture that astronauts are taking care of tea trees on the Moon. Isn't it amazing This might be possible someday. Now, researchers are exploring whether this plant could one day grow out of Earth. The project led by a British University shows that tea plants might grow in lunar soil, making it possible for astronauts to provide food for themselves while living and working on the moon in future.
Scientists planted tea in special soil that is similar to what is found on the Moon and on Mars. The conditions were carefully controlled, from temperature and wetness to lighting. Over several weeks, the lunar group thrived, performing as well as those grown in Earth soil. However, the plants failed to grow in Martian(火星的) soil.
The ability to grow food on the Moon is important for long-term space tasks. Sending large amounts of food from Earth is expensive and challenging. Growing fresh crops locally would reduce dependence on food sent from the Earth, and also provide more food choices and support astronaut health.
The tea experiment shows that even fragile (容易受伤的) crops, like tea, can grow in lunar soil.Future studies may conduct experiments on different crops such as grains and vegetables, which offer more complete nutrition (营养). If successful, astronauts may finally have balanced diets by using lunar soil.
The research is not only about supporting space travel. This could also be good news for farmers finding it difficult to grow crops in poor soil. Climate change and over-farming have caused soil quality to get worse worldwide. Lessons learned from growing tea in Moon-similar soil may one day offer more practical solutions.
16. How does the author introduce the topic
A. By listing the problems of space travel.
B. By introducing a scientific research project.
C. By describing a picture and asking a question.
D. By comparing Earth and Moon environments.
17. What does the underlined word“thrived” in paragraph 2 probably mean
A. Became strong and healthy. B. Stopped growing completely.
C. Depended heavily on wetness. D. Needed lighting to stay healthy.
18. Why is growing food on the Moon important for long- term space missions
A. It offers astronauts much more food choices.
B. Its main purpose is to improve farming on Earth.
C. It can completely end the need for food from Earth.
D. It is difficult and costly to send much food from Earth.
19. What is the future plan for the research according to paragraph 4
A. To have a cup of tea on the Moon. B. To eat grains and vegetable in space.
C. To prove a balanced diet is important. D. To test more kinds of food crops for space.
20. What is the last paragraph mainly about
A. A new type of tea has been developed for poor soil.
B. Climate change has made space research more popular.
C. Pollution is the main reason for soil problems on Earth.
D. The research may help solve farming problems on Earth.

Many people who keep dogs as pets have wondered: Can our dogs tell if a person is good or bad Scientists from Kyoto University wanted to study a more detailed question, so they did a study on dog behavior to find out if dogs could judge whether a human is reliable. They invited 34 healthy pet dogs and their owners to join the study, with carefully designed experiments testing dogs' reactions (反应) to reliable (可靠的) or unreliable human actions.
In the first part, the dogs interacted (互动) with owners. At first, each owner gently pointed to a box with food, and all dogs ran to it quickly to get the food. Then, owners pointed to an empty box.Dogs were tricked at first and went to check, but refused to check when owners did this for the third time. The second part included strangers. Owners politely asked these strangers for help: some were kind and actively offered help, some did nothing, a few were rude. Later, all strangers tried to give dogs snacks. However, dogs only accepted food from kind strangers and those who did nothing.
After the study, scientists drew a clear conclusion (结论). They found that dogs can tell if a person is unreliable by using past experience. When dogs find someone has lied or been rude, they stay away from that person instead of trusting them.
This study shows dogs are much smarter than we usually think. They can understand human behavior and make smart choices about who to trust. As our true friends, dogs not only bring us joy but also help us stay away from unreliable people, making our lives safer.

Dear Miss Smith,
Hello. I hope this email finds you well. My friends and I will put on an English play during the English Culture Week. It's a short comedy about a group of students' adventures in a magic school, full of funny dialogues and lively scenes.
However, we've met some difficulties during rehearsal. Some of us struggle with correct pronunciation of certain English words, and we also find it hard to express the characters' emotions naturally. We would be very grateful if you could offer us some guidance, such as helping us improve our pronunciation and giving advice on how to act more vividly.
Thank you!
