书面表达:
The biggest progress I made
I have made progress in many aspects during my three years in junior high school. One of the biggest changes is in my communication skills.
I used to be very shy and found it difficult to talk to new people. This made it hard for me to make friends and take part in group activities. However, I realized that good communication is limportant for personal growth and success. I started by joining the school’s clubs and I started to speak in front of others. Gradually, I became more confident and comfortable in expressing my thoughts. I also made an effort to have conversations with my classmates and teachers. This practice improved my social skills and helped me build strong relationships. Now, I am more outgoing and can easily communicate with others.
I am grateful for the progress I have made and the support I received from my teachers and friends,济源宇华实验学校2025-2026(上)期中考试

There was once a boy who was growing up in a very rich family. One day, his father decided to take him on a trip to show him how others lived who were less lucky. His father’s goal was to help his son value(珍惜) everything that he already had in life.
The boy and his father pulled up to a farm where a very poor family lived. They spent several days on the farm, helping the family work for their food and take care of their land. When they left the farm, his dad asked his son if he enjoyed their trip and if he had learned anything during the time they spent with this other family.
The boy quickly replied, “It was fantastic. That family is so lucky!” Confused, his father asked what he meant by that. The boy said, “Well, we only have one dog, but that family has four—and they have chickens! We have four people in our home, but they have 12! They have so many people to play with!
We have a pool in our yard, but they have a river running through their farm that is endless. We have lanterns outside so we can see at night, but they have the wide open sky and the beautiful stars to give them wonder and light.
We have a patio (露台), but they have the whole horizon (地平线) to enjoy—they have endless fields to run around in and play. We have to go to the store for food, but they are able to grow their own food. Our high fence protects our house and our family, but they don’t need such a thing, because their friends protect them.”

Have you ever been angry at someone when you were hungry If so, you have experienced “hangry (饿怒)”—some people get angry easily as they are hungry. The reason for this lies in what happens inside your body when it needs food.
Everything you eat would be changed into different kinds of nutrients (营养物质) in your body. These nutrients would enter your blood and be passed to every part of your body and be used for creating energy. As time passes after your last meal, these nutrients in your blood drop. Also, your blood glucose (血糖) drops. Unlike other parts in your body your brain totally depends on blood glucose to do its job. You’ve probably already noticed that simple things can become difficult when you are hungry and your blood glucose levels drop. You may find it hard to pay attention. For example, you may make silly mistakes in your study and homework. You might also have noticed that you can’t even speak clearly when you’re too hungry.
Another thing that happens when you’re hungry is behaving impolitely and can’t control yourself, such as snapping at (呵斥) others. In that case, even though you may already try your best to avoid conflict (冲突) with important friends, you may still be too angry to control yourself when you are staying with the people you are most relaxed with. That’s why you may find yourself being impatient with your parents or friends.
So what should we do to avoid being hangry The easiest way is to eat something before you get too hungry. The best choice is to have some nutrient- rich and natural foods that help deal with hunger quickly and can be kept in our body as long as possible, but not fast food. The final way is to suggest that difficult situations should be dealt with after a meal, not before.
