I used to be a shy boy and I didn't like to be noticed. I chose to sit quietly at the back of the classroom. I listened carefully but I never answered teachers' questions.
After I joined the basketball club, everything changed. At first, I thought it was a crazy idea because I didn't have the ability to keep up with the others in the club and they would laugh at me. But my teacher kept asking me to go for it. I agreed and decided to give it a try.
Taking the courage to try was only the half of it! When I first started attending the practice courses, I didn't even know the rules of the game. That made me feel really stupid. Luckily, I wasn't the only one “new” at the game, so I decided to learn the game, do my best at each practice course, and not to find any excuses for the things I didn't know“ just yet”.
Soon I knew much about the rules of basketball and learned the moves from the coach.I practiced a lot. Being part of a team was so exciting. Very soon I had some competitive ability though I didn't have much confidence. As time passed by, I learned how to play basketball and how to work together.

When people enjoy the moon on the Mid-Autumn Festival, an ancient poem, Prelude to Water Melody, is often read. The story of the poem dates back to the Mid-Autumn Festival in 1076. Su Shi, a great writer in the Song Dynasty, couldn’t sleep that night. For seven years, he had been separated(分离）from his brother. Looking at the moon and thinking of his brother, he wrote the poem. Here are some famous lines.
Men have sorrow and joy; they part or meet again;
The moon is bright or dim and she may wax（月满）or wane（月缺）.
There has been nothing perfect since the olden days.
So let us wish that man
Will live long as he can!
Though miles apart, we’ll share the beauty she displays.
In the first two lines, the writer compares the life of a man to the changing face of the moon. In Chinese culture, a full moon symbolizes perfection and getting together. When the moon is round and fair but people are separated from their loved ones, that’s heart-breaking.
Before the comparison, Su Shi complains about the “ruthless” moon and asks her: Why then when people part, is she oft full and bright However, he soon realizes that no one has an easy ride, just like the moon may not always be bright. That’s why the poet says, “There has been nothing perfect since the olden days.”
But should we stand still with things that we can’t make a difference Su Shi give his answer: Change your mind and stay positive(积极的）. So, we have the last line of the poem. The poet hopes people can avoid losing in the sadness of life and instead enjoy the fact that no matter where they are, as long as the ones they love and miss are healthy and happy, they all can admire the same moon and share her beauty.

A great number of students can’t finish their tasks, which leads to bad results and makes them less interested in their study. How can we solve the problem Here are some suggestions.
First, we are supposed to have good study methods, such as, previewing the lessons before class, listening to the teacher carefully in class, taking notes in time, reviewing in time, doing homework on time, correcting mistakes at any time.
Then, it’s helpful for students to have good health. So we should spend at least an hour exercising every day. We can play basketball, climb the mountains or swim. We also need to watch movies or listen to music to relax ourselves.
