邀请信
假定你是李华,得知你的交换生好友Peter今年寒假因故无法回国。请你给他写一封邮件,内容包括: 1.给予安慰;2.邀请他到你家过春节;3.表达期待。
Dear Peter,
I was truly sorry to hear that you can’t go back to your home country this winter holiday—missing family during such an important time must be really tough, and I can only imagine how homesick you must feel. Please know that you’re not alone here; my family and I would be thrilled to have you join us for the Spring Festival, China’s most cherished traditional holiday. This could be a wonderful chance to experience the warmth of Chinese family culture and create unforgettable memories.
The Spring Festival is all about reunion, joy, and new beginnings, and we’d love to share every special moment with you. On New Year’s Eve, we’ll gather to paste red couplets on the doors (which symbolize good luck), hang lanterns to brighten up the house, and watch the Spring Festival Gala together—there are funny skits, beautiful songs, and amazing dance performances that the whole family enjoys. My mom is an excellent cook, and she’s already planning to make a feast of traditional Chinese dishes: dumplings (we’ll even teach you how to wrap them!), braised pork, sweet and sour fish, and many other delicious treats. During the holiday, we’ll also visit relatives and friends, where you’ll be greeted with warm smiles and lucky red envelopes filled with best wishes. We might even go to the temple fair to watch lion dances, try local snacks, and soak up the festive atmosphere.
I’m sure this Spring Festival will be an experience you’ll never forget—full of warmth, laughter, and unique cultural surprises. You’ll get to see how Chinese families celebrate the new year, learn more about our traditions, and feel right at home with us. Please let me know if you can come, and we’ll make all the preparations for you. I’m already looking forward to sharing this special holiday with my dear friend!
Yours,
Li Hua
2.告知信
假定你是李华,请给你的外国朋友 Ryan 写一封信,分享你最近的一次家务劳动经历。内容包括:
1.劳动过程;2. 劳动感受。
Dear Ryan,
Hope this letter finds you well! I wanted to share a recent housework experience that not only transformed my room but also gave me a new perspective on daily life.
Last Sunday morning, I woke up to a room that was in complete chaos: books were scattered across the sofa and floor, clothes were piled on the chair, empty snack bags were lying on the desk, and there was a thin layer of dust on the bookshelf. I felt a sudden urge to tidy it up—no more putting it off! I rolled up my sleeves and started with the basics: first, I gathered all the garbage and threw it away, then sorted the clothes into “wash” and “fold” piles. Next, I picked up each book one by one, wiped off the dust, and arranged them neatly on the bookshelf by category—storybooks, textbooks, and reference books all found their proper places. After that, I wiped down the desk, window sill, and furniture with a damp cloth, making sure every surface was spotless. Finally, I swept the floor carefully, paying attention to the corners, and then mopped it until it shone. The whole process took me about two hours, and by the end, I was sweating profusely and my back ached a little—but when I stepped back and looked at my tidy, bright room, I felt an overwhelming sense of satisfaction.
This experience taught me a lot. First of all, I realized how much effort it takes to keep a space clean—and I suddenly understood why my parents always remind me to tidy up my room. They’ve been doing this kind of housework every day to make our home comfortable, and I never truly appreciated their hard work before. Secondly, doing housework helped me develop a sense of responsibility and patience. It’s not a glamorous task, but it requires careful attention to detail and perseverance. Most importantly, seeing the fruits of my labor made me feel proud and accomplished—there’s something really rewarding about transforming a messy space into an organized one. Now, I’ve decided to do housework regularly, not just for myself but also to help my parents.
Have you had any interesting housework experiences lately I’d love to hear about them! Best wishes to you.
Yours,
Li Hua

The Beauty of Friendliness
Friendliness is a precious traditional virtue of the Chinese nation, passed down from generation to generation. It is a simple yet powerful quality that shines through small, everyday actions, connecting people’s hearts and making the world a warmer place.
In our daily lives, friendliness manifests itself in countless ways. It could be a warm smile and a greeting when you pass a neighbor on the street, a helping hand offered to an elderly person carrying heavy groceries, or patiently explaining a difficult problem to a classmate who’s struggling with their studies. It could also be listening quietly to a friend who’s feeling down, forgiving someone who accidentally bumps into you, or sharing your snacks with a classmate who forgot theirs. These actions may seem trivial, but they carry great power. A kind word can lift someone’s mood on a bad day; a small act of help can ease another person’s burden; a gesture of understanding can bridge the gap between strangers.
Friendliness is not only beneficial to others but also enriches our own lives. When we treat others with kindness, we create a harmonious atmosphere where people trust and support each other. It helps reduce conflicts and misunderstandings, making our communities more peaceful and inclusive. Moreover, being friendly brings us inner joy—there’s a sense of satisfaction that comes from knowing we’ve made a positive difference in someone else’s life. Research even shows that kind people are often happier and healthier, as kindness reduces stress and promotes emotional well-being. In a world that can sometimes feel cold and disconnected, friendliness is like a ray of sunshine, bringing warmth and hope to those around us.
Therefore, I sincerely call on everyone to embrace friendliness in our daily lives. Let’s start with small actions: smile more, listen more, and help more. Let’s be patient with others’ mistakes, understanding of others’ difficulties, and generous with our kindness. Whether we’re at school, at home, or in public, let’s treat everyone with respect and warmth. Remember, friendliness is contagious—one kind act can inspire another, and together, we can build a world filled with love and care.
Let’s carry forward this traditional virtue and make friendliness a part of our lives. Together, we can create a more harmonious, warm, and beautiful world!

Morgan paid a visit to Archie’s home after school, and what he saw left him deeply moved—Archie’s life was far more difficult than he had imagined. The small, shabby house was sparsely furnished, with medical bills and debt notices scattered on the rickety table. Archie’s father had passed away a year ago, and his mother had been bedridden with a chronic illness for a long time, leaving the family with a heavy burden of medical expenses. To support his mother and pay off the debts, Archie had to take a part-time job at a restaurant after school, working late into the night. It was no wonder he never had time to do his homework, and his grades had been declining steadily.
Mr. Morgan sat down with Archie, his voice gentle yet firm. He told the boy about the principal’s plan to provide academic support for students in need, and then made a promise: “Archie, you’re a smart boy with great potential—you’re meant for something better than struggling with debts and part-time work at such a young age. Look at your hands: they should be holding books, not scrubbing dishes or carrying heavy boxes. As for the cooking and household chores, I’ll come to your house every evening to help. You can focus on your studies after work, and I’ll make sure you and your mother have warm meals to eat.” Archie’s eyes filled with tears as he nodded, unable to say a word.
From that day on, it became a daily routine. Every evening, Mr. Morgan would stop by Archie’s house after work, buy fresh ingredients on the way, and cook nutritious meals for Archie and his mother. While cooking, he would chat with Archie about his studies, listen to his worries, and encourage him to never give up on his dreams. After dinner, Mr. Morgan would help Archie review his lessons, explain difficult concepts, and guide him through his homework. With Mr. Morgan’s help and care, Archie’s grades began to improve steadily—he went from failing math to getting a B, and his English essays became more coherent and expressive. His mother’s health also improved a little, as she no longer had to worry about cooking and could rest more. Most importantly, Archie’s eyes regained their brightness and confidence—he started to believe that he could change his fate through hard work.
Fifteen years later, Archie returned to his old school, now a successful businessman running his own company. Walking down the familiar hallways, the memories of his difficult but warm school days came flooding back. Suddenly, a familiar voice echoed in the corridor: “Excuse me, are you looking for someone ” Archie turned around and immediately recognized the man—Mr. Morgan, who had aged a little but still had the same kind smile. “Mr. Morgan! It’s me, Archie!” he exclaimed, rushing forward and throwing his arms around the teacher tightly. “Do you remember me The lazy boy who never did his homework because he was too busy working ”
Mr. Morgan patted his back gently, his eyes lighting up with recognition. “Of course I remember you, Archie! You’ve grown so much!” Archie talked excitedly about the days when Mr. Morgan had cooked for his family, helped him with his studies, and encouraged him to keep going. “Those evenings were the brightest part of my childhood,” Archie said, his voice trembling with emotion. “You didn’t just help me with my homework—you gave me hope, you made me believe that I could be someone. Without your kindness and support, I would never have gotten where I am today.” He then handed Mr. Morgan a thick envelope: “This is a donation to the school’s scholarship fund for students in need. I want to help more kids like me have the chance to pursue their dreams, just like you helped me.”
Mr. Morgan accepted the envelope with tears in his eyes, feeling proud and touched. “Archie, you’ve already made me proud. The best reward for a teacher is seeing his students grow into kind, successful people who are willing to give back. You’ve done that.” As they stood there chatting in the hallway, Archie knew that Mr. Morgan’s kindness had not only changed his life but also shaped his values—he had learned to be grateful, to be kind, and to help others whenever he could. And he would carry that lesson with him for the rest of his life.
