如 2024 年新课标 Ⅰ 卷首句 “I ran back to Gunter and told him the bad news” 暗示第一段写 Gunter 的包容,第二段首句 “Four days later, I called Gunter” 则指向还款与感恩。
动作链描写:分解动作形成连贯画面,如 “Tony rushed to Rose, threw his arms around her tightly, and wiped tears from her cheeks”。
重点句式:独立主格(“Tears streaming down her face, she hugged him tightly”)、强调句(“It was his bravery that helped him win the race”)、无灵主语句(“A wave of joy swept over her”)、比喻(“Her smile was as bright as the sun”)。

My mom has always been my biggest supporter, especially when it comes to my love for painting. Last month, she brought home a beautiful old vase from my grandmother’s house. “It’s been in our family for three generations,” she told me, running her fingers gently over its blue and white patterns. “Your great-grandmother made it by hand, and your grandmother kept it safe for years. Now it’s ours to take care of.”
I was thrilled to have such a special piece in our home. Mom placed it on a high shelf in the living room, next to a collection of my paintings. “It needs to stay up here where it’s safe,” she said, smiling. “But feel free to look at it anytime—just be careful not to knock it over.”
Last Saturday morning, Mom had to go to the supermarket to buy some groceries. “I’ll be back in an hour,” she said, grabbing her bag. “Can you keep an eye on the house, Tom And remember—leave the vase alone, okay ” I nodded, promising to be careful.
At first, I sat on the couch and read a book. But after a while, I got bored and decided to look at my paintings. As I walked over to the shelf, I noticed a book I’d been wanting to read on the top shelf, right next to the vase. I stood on my tiptoes and reached for it, stretching as far as I could. My fingers brushed against the book, but I couldn’t quite grab it. I leaned forward a little more, and suddenly—I heard a loud crash.
I froze. My heart started pounding as I slowly turned around. There, on the floor, was the broken vase. Pieces of blue and white porcelain were scattered everywhere, and the beautiful patterns I’d admired so much were now in shards. I felt sick to my stomach. Mom had trusted me to take care of the house, and I’d broken the family heirloom.
Just then, I heard the front door open. Mom was home early. I panicked, not knowing what to do. I wanted to hide, but I knew I had to face her. I stood there, staring at the broken vase, as Mom walked into the living room. She stopped in her tracks when she saw the mess, and her eyes widened. I could see the sadness in her face, and that made me feel even worse.
“I was in the kitchen making tea when I heard a loud noise from the living room. I rushed in and saw my 8-year-old son, Tom, standing beside the broken vase. The vase was my grandmother’s favorite, and it had been passed down for three generations. Tom’s eyes were full of fear, and he froze to the spot. ‘I’m sorry, Mom. I was trying to reach the book on the shelf,’ he whispered.”
Paragraph 1: I took a deep breath to calm myself down.
Paragraph 2: A few weeks later, Tom came to me with a small box in his hand.
Paragraph 1: I took a deep breath to calm myself down. Looking at Tom’s trembling body and tearful eyes, I softened immediately. “It’s okay, honey. Accidents happen,” I said gently, kneeling down to his level. I touched his shoulder and continued, “The vase is precious, but you are more important to me. Let’s clean up the pieces together first, shall we ” Tom nodded and started picking up the fragments carefully, his little hands shaking slightly. While cleaning, I told him that taking responsibility for mistakes was braver than hiding from them.
Paragraph 2: A few weeks later, Tom came to me with a small box in his hand. “Mom, I have a surprise for you,” he said excitedly. Opening the box, I saw the vase, roughly glued back together with visible cracks. “I saved my pocket money to buy glue and spent every evening fixing it,” Tom explained, his eyes shining with pride. I hugged him tightly, a wave of warmth sweeping over me. “It’s perfect, my boy. This vase is even more meaningful now because it carries your bravery and love,” I whispered. It dawned on me that the true value of things lies not in their perfection, but in the memories and feelings they hold.
The end of the semester was approaching, and our science teacher announced a group project—each pair had to design a study on a topic related to daily life, then present the results to the whole class. The news made my heart sink a little; I’d never been good at group work, especially when it came to projects that required speaking in front of others.
When the teacher asked us to choose partners, I hesitated. Most of my classmates had already paired up, chatting excitedly about their ideas. Just as I was worrying about being left alone, a voice tapped my shoulder. “Hey, do you want to be my partner ” It was Alex—top of our class, with a notebook always filled with neat notes, and a smile that never seemed to fade when he talked about science. I’d always admired him from a distance, but I’d never dared to talk to him much; his confidence made me feel even more insecure about my own average grades.
“Sure, that’s... that’s great,” I stammered, my fingers twisting the edge of my textbook. Alex pulled up a chair next to me and pulled out a blank notebook. “So, what topics are you interested in ” he asked, flipping through the pages. I shook my head—truthfully, I hadn’t thought about it at all. “I don’t know,” I mumbled. “Maybe something easy Like... how plants grow ”
Alex chuckled softly, but it wasn’t a mocking laugh—more like a gentle nudge. “Easy is okay, but let’s pick something we can actually dig into,” he said. He pointed to a news article in his notebook: “I read this last week—teenagers these days are under a lot of pressure, right What if we study their psychological well-being We could interview classmates, make surveys... it might be interesting.”
I stared at the article, my mind blank. “Psychological well-being ” I repeated. The words felt like a foreign language. I’d heard my mom talk about “being happy” or “feeling stressed,” but I had no idea how to turn that into a science project. “I... I don’t know what that means exactly,” I admitted, my face warming. I expected Alex to look disappointed, maybe even want to switch partners.
But he just nodded, like my confusion was totally normal. “That’s okay—we can figure it out together,” he said. He pulled out his phone and showed me a simple definition: “It’s about how we feel emotionally, how we handle stress, and whether we feel supported. See Not that hard.” For the next hour, we sat there, tossing around ideas—should we ask about school pressure Family relationships Hobbies By the end, we somehow agreed to focus on “how after-school activities affect teenagers’ psychological well-being.”
I left the classroom that day with a mix of relief and worry. Relief because I had a partner who didn’t seem to mind my lack of ideas, but worry because I still didn’t fully understand what we were doing. “Don’t stress,” Alex said as we walked out. “We’ll take it step by step. First, we need to make a survey—want to work on that tomorrow after class ” I nodded, forcing a smile.
My partner for the science project was Alex, who was top of our class and always seemed confident. I, on the other hand, was average in studies and often felt insecure. After long discussions, we somehow agreed to do a study on the psychological well-being of teenagers. I wasn’t sure what it meant exactly, but at least we had a topic.
Paragraph 1: The first meeting for our project was held in the school library.
Paragraph 2: As the project progressed, I gradually gained confidence.
Paragraph 1: The first meeting for our project was held in the school library. I sat nervously opposite Alex, my fingers twisting the corner of the notebook. When he started talking about research methods and data analysis, I felt totally lost, my face burning with embarrassment. Sensing my discomfort, Alex paused and asked gently, “Do you have any ideas about how to collect information ” I hesitated for a moment and mumbled, “Maybe we can interview our classmates ” To my surprise, Alex’s eyes lit up. “That’s a great idea! Your perspective is really valuable,” he said enthusiastically. His encouragement gave me a little courage to share more of my thoughts.
Paragraph 2: As the project progressed, I gradually gained confidence. I actively searched for relevant articles in the library and practiced interviewing skills after class. Every time I finished an interview, Alex would praise my communication skills sincerely. When we presented our project to the class, I spoke clearly and confidently, without looking at my notes once. To our delight, we won the first prize. Holding the certificate, I smiled at Alex and realized that I was not as average as I thought. It was through this project that I learned that everyone has their own strengths, and confidence comes from daring to try and being recognized. From then on, I became more willing to participate in group activities and express myself boldly.
