第四部分写作
One possible version:
Dear Daniel,
I’m writing to see if you could contribute an article to the “Culture and Lifestyle” column
of our school’s English newspaper.
The column enjoys considerable popularity among us students, whose objective is to
introduce diverse cultures and lifestyles from various nations to broaden our horizons. We are
eager to have an article about how Irish people spend their holidays and the life of Irish high
school students. You can write anything relevant so long as it is interesting and informative.
500 words would be fine. Would you be so kind as to send your draft to me by November 28
It would be highly appreciated if you could help us out. Looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
One possible version:
At the end of the class, I turned to him and asked, “I'm not sure where my next class is,
could you help me ” With a frown, he cast a quick glance at me, gave me an impatient
response “Sorry”, and stormed out of the classroom with his friends. Quickly as he faded out of
my sight, their words still echoed in my ears, “Did you see that silly girl attempting to get into
our group No way!” I felt my face flushing with shame, a strong wave of embarrassment
flooding me over. “How could they treat me in such a rude manner ” I stood rooted to the spot,
not believing what had happened to me just now.
Just at that time, someone came up and tapped me on the shoulder. The moment I turned
around, I saw Diane beaming at me like a ray of sunshine, who swept away the gloom in my
heart. I made every effort to conceal my feeling and stammered out what I had encountered.
She held my hand and offered to help me find the next room, her radiant smile blossoming on
her face. It was then that I suddenly perceived the truth that I should make friends with those
who are sincere and helpful in nature but not those who are popular in appearance.
附:听力原文
(Text 1)
W: You must be excited about your trip to Brazil! How long are you staying
M: I was going to stay for three weeks. But the hotel increased its prices, so I’ll shorten the trip
by one week.
(Text 2)
W: I found the balloons I bought for my sister looked great, hanging in her garden.
M: Is that where the party was
W: Yeah. I arrived in my car last night, then realized I’d left my sweater at home — but at
least I hadn’t forgotten her present!
(Text 3)
M: I think it’s time to start looking for another job.
W: Why The money is good, and it is near your house.
M: Yes, but I work long hours doing something that I don’t really enjoy.
(Text 4)
M: Good morning. I’d like to send some flowers to a friend.
W: What’s the occasion, sir
M: I’d like to wish my friend a speedy recovery from an accident. What color flowers would
you suggest
W: Any bright and cheerful.
(Text 5)
M: I have a bit of pain in my leg. I guess I overdid it during my workout.
W: Don’t you need to take it easy the next few days
M: No, I’m fine.
第二节
(Text 6)
W: Heather, you earn money by traveling all over the world and writing about it, don’t you
M: That’s right, yes. I first started about 20 years ago. And I’ve been to many countries so far.
W: So far So there are still some more you’d like to visit
M: Yes. I’ve never been to Thailand, and I think it’ll be the 53rd country I visit.
(Text 7)
M: So, do you think that we now have everything ready for the meal
W: Almost, I was just wondering what would be the best way of preparing the potatoes.
M: Well, you could just boil them and serve them with the fish.
W: That would be easy, but I don’t think it would be very delicious.
M: What about frying them
W: They aren’t very healthy, though, and I haven’t got much oil left.
M: You could roast them and serve them with the salad that Elly is preparing.
W: That would taste good, but it takes ages to roast potatoes. I know, I’ll boil them and then
put them with Elly’s salad.
(Text 8)
M: Well, what do you think of the room
W: The view out of the window is wonderful! The sea water is clear.
M: Yeah. Let’s take a moment and plan what we’re going to do this afternoon. I got these
brochures. This rainforest adventure looks interesting. It says it’s a 5-km guided hike. The
guide explains the local plants and wildlife.
W: Nah, it’ll be too hot to go hiking in the afternoon.
M: How about this one then: tour the city’s most important historical buildings on a sightseeing
bus
W: Sounds uninteresting.
M: What about the Museum of Natural History
W: Dad, why do you have to turn every vacation into school Can’t we just relax
M: I guess.
(Text 9)
W: Hi Ivan. I’m thinking of doing a business studies degree. Isn’t that what you’re doing
M: Yes, I’m about to start my third year. I think you’d enjoy it like me.
W: Well, you know, I’ve been working for a publisher for the last four years as a production
assistant …
M: That will be a valuable experience because a lot of people don’t have that kind of
background.
W: Yeah, I know. And I’m used to dealing with figures, but it’s been a while since I’ve sat
down and put my ideas into an essay. Did you find writing essays easy
M: It was OK. I could hand them in by the due date. But I was always late for lectures, so I had
to work hard at that, and I can be early now.
W: But you did it finally. I think the course looks really good. And I’ll try to do it well.
(Text 10)
M: Hello, everyone. I’d like to talk about the two-day charity festival our school is organizing
for children in need. The festival is going to take place at the school on Saturday and
Sunday. Opening time for both days is 10 o’clock in the morning, and closing time is 6
o’clock in the evening. There is a 2-euro entrance charge for adults, but there is no charge
for young children and students. Let me tell you about the activities. First of all, a cake sale
on both days. Depending on the kinds of cake, the prices will be different. Secondly, on
Saturday morning, there is going to be an art show where visitors can buy students’
artworks. Finally, a special basketball match for Sunday morning. Although the ticket for
the game is ?5, I think it will attract a big crowd because what makes this game special is
that students will be playing against teachers. The school has already posted the charity
festival online and is planning to contact local radio stations and local TV stations to report
it. I really hope it will be successful.
