I had just come out of a difficult meeting. Five months before, I’d lost my friend Analia. Two weeks earlier my aunt had passed away. I had no time to process the loss with one coming after the other. I just wanted to be alone with my sadness. At a red light, the driver asked, “Could I put on some music ” I nodded an okay. Maybe music would help keep us in our own worlds. An old merengue (默朗格舞曲) filled the back seat. I thought of Aunt Nena. She was always the first to hit the floor at family parties. “Always give yourself a reason to dance and sing,” she used to say.The DJ said, “Friendships can be beautiful, can’t they This song is for all the good friends.” This song was like something Analia and I would have sung on one of our road trips. If she were here, she’d be singing even now.Was that what Analia and Aunt Nena would want for me The merengue, the pop songs—my aunt and my friend brought music to my life. They would want me to enjoy each day the way they’d taught me. To appreciate my job, my friends and my family, the subway and bus rides, talkative taxi drivers, and life.“Mind if I sing to this one ” the driver asked. “The music feels better when others can hear you sing.” “It sure does,” I said. Artists can now “paint” on an iPad just as well as they can on paper with a paintbrush and paint.Artists give their opinions on how technology has changed art, and how they have counted on technology. Ms Teresa, a dance teacher at the Hamilton Heights Elementary School, said, “I love dance because it is non-technological, but technology has improved my teaching practice and made it easier to share the world of dance with my students.” Ms Teresa shares how she is able to share her passion (激情) with her students more efficiently with the use of technology and how it has given her students more chances to study many dance styles. Thanks to technology, we are presented with so much knowledge, and so many new techniques. “Graphic design (平面设计), computer-generated paintings, Photoshop, digitally created music, e-books, and 3D printing—to name just a few! Technology has undoubtedly influenced art across different mediums. The website Art Thou explains all the ways art has adapted to technology. “Techniques, such as video software and digital colors, are a far cry from the traditional tools of the paintbrush.”Along with these amazing benefits, technology has also had negative effects on art. Some think digital art is unreal. Art Thou says, “Famous paintings are being reproduced and adjusted (调整) by graphic designers at an increasing rate.” With designers continuously adjusting and reproducing art, the originality of an art piece such as Mona Lisa could be taken away.It is also possible that digital art can take away the creative aspect of art. Art Thou explains, “Technology has however arguably weakened creativity as artists are appealed to by the huge technological power. Given these disadvantages, it depends on how artists use the technology. They must once again become the master of these tools and techniques so that they can translate their vision and creativity and the final result truly reflects their personality.”How does technology help artists according to the author A. By giving them more inspiration.B. By helping them work effectively.C. By offering them more possibilities.D. By providing better painting mediums.29. What do Ms Teresa’s words in paragraph 2 show A. Technology makes art teaching easier.B. Art depends too much on technology now.C. Technology helps people find their passion.D. Art exchanges become increasingly important.30. What does the author want to stress with the example of Mona Lisa A. The loss of art paintings’ original meaning.B. Recognition of graphic designers’ creativity.C. Artists’ attitudes towards technological power.D. Technology’s influence on artworks’ originality.31. What does the text mainly talk about A. The influence of technology on art.B. The challenges faced by creative arts.C. The use of technology in different ways.D. The strengths and weaknesses of technology.DIn a study, researchers at Royal Holloway University of London and Virginia Tech studied honeybees’ behavior across 20 honeybee groups in London and nearby agricultural areas. The information told the researchers that foraging trip distances (觅食之旅的距离) of honeybees were short in city areas compared to those in agricultural areas. The researchers carried out their study between April and September 2017, across 20 sites: 10 in central London to represent city land and 10 in agricultural land. They found that the waggle dance (摇摆舞) is unique to honeybees, who send messages about the location of flower resources to the hive (蜂房). When honeybees return to the hive with food, instead of immediately leaving to forage again, they will repeat a particular figure-eight dance. Researchers then studied their movements and mapped out where the bees had been. The researchers also found no significant difference in the amount of sugar collected by the city and countryside bees, which showed that the longer foraging distances in countryside areas were not driven by faraway nectar (花蜜) rich resources. The findings support the idea that cities are hot spots for social bees, with gardens providing plentiful resources. In agricultural areas, it is likely harder for honeybees to find food, so they have to go further before they find enough food to bring back to the hive. The researchers warn that because city areas make up a small percentage of total land cover, they are unlikely to be enough to support all bee populations. Professor Leadbeater, the author of the study, said, “Protection efforts should be made to increase the number of flowers that don’t bear fruits in agricultural areas. This would increase the amount of food available (可获得的) across the season and landscape and reduce bees’ dependence on small numbers of seasonal flowering crops.”Because the study focused on honeybees, the researchers warn that the findings will not suit all bee species. As for many other kinds of bees, they are susceptible to their nearby environment. The existence of some special host plants or nesting sites will be important to determine whether cities are valuable homes. What can be learned about honeybees’ waggle dance A. It is a celebration of getting enough food.B. It is a sign of inviting friends to their hives.C. It is used for communicating food resources.D. It is performed differently in different places.33. What is the key factor that influences the foraging trip distances A. Human activity. B. Food availability.C. The type of nectar. D. The number of hives.34. What did Professor Leadbeater suggest A. Increasing the number of parks.B. Planting more non-crop flowers.C. Improving city areas’ land cover.D. Reducing seasonal flowering crops.35. What does the underlined word “susceptible” in the last paragraph mean A. Adaptable. B. Blind. C. Familiar. D. Sensitive.第二节(共 5 小题;每小题 2.5 分,满分 12.5 分)阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。If you want to be a great writer, you’ll have mastery of your skills, in part, by reading widely. In sports, they say you should always compete with someone more skilled than you because it forces you to rise to a higher level of competency. 36 Here are some tips for developing the kind of reading habit that will strengthen your writing:Read voraciously (如饥似渴地). 37 The books we read as children influence our tastes and can often have an influence on our writing style as adults. The writers who shape us are almost like unofficial teachers. By reading widely and closely, voracious readers can learn at the feet of history’s most famous writers.38 Don’t just read for pleasure. As you work your way through a novel, study the ways different writers deal with different subjects, how they form their sentences and stories, and how they start dialogue.Build your vocabulary (词汇). If you read Ulysses by James Joyce, for example, chances are your vocabulary will improve. Your work won’t necessarily come out sounding like his, but your writing skills will be improved and upgraded by his style. 39Recognize what other authors do best. 40 J. K. Rowling can teach you how to build fictional worlds; Nicole Krauss can teach you how to deal with different kinds of narrators (叙述者); Rebecca Curtis can teach you how to use patterns and repetition for humor. All you have to do is study their work.A. Enjoy your reading.B. Read with a purpose.C. Writers are shaped by other writers.D. You’ll become familiar with more new words.E. Other authors can teach you different writing skills.F. Similarly, you should read good books to improve writing.G. The art of reading like a writer does not come immediately.第三部分 语言运用(共三节,满分45分)第一节(共 15 小题,每小题 1 分,满分 15 分)Dad would’ve turned 100 this year. But it wasn’t to be. When Jordon passed them, he heard the woman yell, “How stupid you are! You are good at nothing. ”Jordon stopped and looked at the little boy. The boy said nothing. He just stood there, looking upset.Jordon was reminded of his English teacher Mrs Mary in middle school. He was often told that he was good at nothing. But one day it all changed. One day, in an English writing class, Mrs Mary asked them to read a novel. They were asked to write a new chapter of the novel after they finished reading the book. A few days later, Jordon handed in his story. But the next day to his surprise, the comment (评价) “well done” from Mrs Mary came into view the moment he turned to the page where the story was written. When Jordon read that, he almost burst into tears. That day after he returned home, he wrote a short story and gave it to Mrs Mary the next morning. And again he was praised.Jordon became very interested in writing. He often wrote short stories and asked Mrs Mary to read them and correct them for him. Mrs Mary always corrected them for him and gave him good advice to improve them. One year later, he was no longer that boy who lacked self-confidence. He gained his confidence and was hopeful about his future. Several years after graduating from college, he had his first book published and became famous as a writer in his country. And he owed his success to Mrs Mary's encouragement. Without her encouragement, his life might be very different now.注意:1. 续写词数应为80-100词左右,续写内容为一段。2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。Encouraged by his own life story, Jordon decided to do something for that boy._________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________听力(共两节,满分 30 分)1-5 CCBAB 6-10 BCABB 11-15 BCBBC 16-20 BACAA阅读(共两节,满分50分)第一节(共15小题;每题2.5分,满分37.5分)21-23 ADD 24-27 CBAD 28-31 CADA 32-35 CBBD第二节(共 5 小题;每小题 2.5 分,满分 12.5 分)36-40 FCBDE第三部分 语言运用(共三节,满分45分)第一节(共 15 小题,每小题 1 分,满分 15 分)41-45 DACBC 46-50 ADBAC 51-55 BDABC第二节(共10小题,每小题1.5分,满分15分)proposalwithto haveownspreviouslyitsthat/whichstartingwill be priceda第三节(共15小题,每小题1分,满分15分)to acquireareargumentsshootinghas grownitrecoveryskippinggenerositywhoseanxiouslyrecognizedthat/whichaboutenergetic第四部分 写作 (共两节,满分25分)(满分15分)Dear Melody,I’m sorry to hear about the disagreement with your parents. I bought it last month for fifty dollars, and that was during a once-a-year sale, too.M: What was in your bag W: A wallet with two hundred dollars cash, my car keys, and my driver’s license. I’m sure I left it in the cafe on the sixth floor. That was the last place I remember having it.M: And when was that W: About 2:30.M: Where did you go when you left the cafe W: A record store. I wanted to buy some magazines there. Oh, please, sir, you’ve just gotta help me get it back!Text 8W: Excuse me. May I have a look at that blouse M: Certainly! It’s beautiful. I can see that you have very good taste, ma’am! It really suits you!W: Thanks, but it’s not for me. It’s for a friend. She asked me to buy one for her. What are you asking for this M: Well, madam, you’re very lucky. We have a special offer going on for this week only! That blouse is normally 60 dollars, but we are offering a 10 percent discount!W: Oh, dear! That’s still more than 50 dollars, and she asked me to spend only 40.M: I see. Well, ma’am, just look at the quality of the silk!W: It’s very nice, but I think your prices are a little high. Look, I can get a blouse like this for half that price on the Internet.M: But not of this quality, madam.W: I’ll tell you what. I’m in a bit of hurry, so why don’t we split the difference Can we say 47 dollars M: 47! At that price, I’m losing money! So, let’s say 50.W: 50 Hmm… Hey, look, there’s a button missing!M: Are you sure OK! Let’s make it 47, then!W: OK, I’llText 9W: Hey there, Mr. Connolly, What are you doing over there M: Oh, I’m just watering my tomatoes.W: Wow, those look like they’re going to be delicious! What else do you have planted back there M: I’ve got some beans over here, and it looks like my apples are just beginning to show, I planted some potatoes and onions, too, but those won’t be ready until the winter.W: Wow! I never knew you had such a green thumb!M: Well, I’m just a beginner, actually. My wife was the real gardener. When she died, I thought that keeping our garden would be a great way to carry on her memory.W: Yeah, she was also a great cook. I remember she used to make apple pies with the apples from your garden. I think the whole neighborhood looked forward to those pies every Christmas!M: Yep, she sure was special. Say, weren’t you and your husband talking about trying to start a garden in your backyard W: Yeah, but it’s been... talk! We don’t really know where to start. Maybe we should wait until next year.M: Nonsense! There are plenty of things you can plant in late fall. I’ve got a bunch of seeds inside. Why don’t you take some home W: Oh, I don’t want to trouble you.M: No, it’s my pleasure, really! I don’t have enough room here for everything.Text 10Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Alice Brown. As you know, we hold a series of events during the school year on various cultural topics. I am happy there’s such a large crowd of both students and professors here at our city art presentation this year. I see that almost every seat is taken. Tonight, we are lucky to have as our guest, a man of considerable fame in the world of music. He began to play the piano at the age of 5, and by the time he was 10, he was already composing and playing his own pieces. He’s a graduate of the famous Julliard School in New York City. Our guest has spent the last 45 years of his very successful career touring the world and giving concerts. We are fortunate to have him here to share some of his experiences with us. He has had many adventures along the way — losing instruments, missing flight connections, no hotel reservations, locked concert balls. He’s played for all of the well-known conductors, not only in North America but all over the world as well. The title of his talk is 40 Years on Four Continents. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Daniel Robinson, one of the greatest pianists of our day. 展开更多...... 收起↑ 资源列表 江苏省盐城市五校2025-2026学年高一上学期期中联考英语听力.mp3 江苏省盐城市五校2025-2026学年高一上学期期中联考英语试卷(含音频).docx
