Without Thomas Edison, the world would be a very different place. We would still be lighting our houses with the lamps and candles in the evenings. Edison's invention of electric light has completely changed the way we live. Thomas Edison was born in 1847 in the USA and lived until 1931. He didn't do well at school and spent only three months there. Yet he worked hard all his life to create more than 2,000 different inventions. In 1879, he made the first electric light that could be used in people's homes. He was an amazing man.

第二档： (5~7 分)不完全符合题意，只包含提示中的部分要点，结构不合理，多数语句意思表述不够清楚，语法和词汇错误较多，影响理解，书写欠规范。
