观察并思考:
情态动词(Modal verbs)
定义:表示说话人对动作的态度,比如:需要,可能,意愿,猜测或者怀疑等等。情态动词主要有下列: can (could), may (might), must, need, ought to, dare (dared), shall (should), will (would)
情态动词主要特征:
1.具有助动词作用,可以用来构成否定句,疑问句及用于简单回答。
2.后接动词原形,接不带to的不定式。
3.无人称和数的变化。
e.g:-Can you/he/she/they/it sing English songs? ...会唱英语歌吗?
-Yes , I/he/she/they/it can. 是的,...会。
I/He/She/They/It can sing English songs....会唱英语歌.
情态动词can
can是情态动词,意思是“能; 可以”,不能独立作谓语,只能与其他动词(原形)一起构成谓语,且没有人称和数的变化。
◆can的主要用法
表示某种能力,意为“能;会”(本单元主要学习)
e.g: I can speak French. 我会讲法语。
She can dance. 她会跳舞。
They can join the story telling club.
他们能加入讲故事的俱乐部。
①观察例句: I can dance. 我会跳舞。
肯定句:主语+can+__________+其他.
②观察例句:I can’t sing. 我不会唱歌。
否定句:主语+__________+_________+其他.
注意:can与not可缩写成can’t或cannot。
③观察例句 -- Can he play chess 他会下国际象棋吗 ?
-- Yes, he can./ No ,he can't. -- 是的,他会。/不,他不会。
一般疑问句: Can+_____+________+其他
肯定回答: Yes, 主语+______.
否定回答: No, 主语+______.
④观察例句:What can you do 你会做什么?
特殊疑问句:疑问词+_____+主语+_________

can的其他用法:
1. can作为情态动词,可以表示请求或允许 。
Can I use your pencil 我可以用一下你的铅笔吗?
You can sit down.你可以坐下。
注意:表示请求或允许时,在口语中常用OK,sure或certainly等作肯定回答;用sorry等作否定回答。
— Can I borrow your pen, please — Certainly.
2. can也可以用于推测,表示可能性 。常用于否定句和疑问句。此时can't译为“不可能”
Tom is in the classroom. He can’t be here.
汤姆在教室,他不可能在这儿。

tell v. 告诉。tell 强调一方在说一方在听,除较少情况外,一般后面接双宾语sb/sth。
常用结构:
tell sb (not) to do sth 告诉某人(不)去做某事
tell sb sth=tell sth to sb 告诉某人某事
tell stories / jokes讲故事/笑话
例如:He’s telling ______________.他在给我讲故事。

拓展:另外三个“说” speak / say / talk
speak 意思是“说话”,着重说的动作,是不及物动词;也作“演说”解,此外可作及物动词用,接语言等词。
say:是最口语化的最普通的一个词,意为“说出”、“说道”,着重所说的话。
talk 强调双方“交谈,谈论 ”常用talk to / with sb 与某人交谈;talk about sth 交谈(关于)某事。注意:打电话时,习惯用speak, 不用talk。

Dear Teachers and Friends,
Today, I interviewed what cool things we can all do in our class. I asked about four things: playing music, swimming, reading with feelings, and playing chess. Here's what I found:
1. Playing Music: One friend told me he rocks at playing the guitar and has been doing it for three years. Another friend said he hasn't tried playing any instruments yet.
2. Swimming: A third friend proudly said he used to be in the swim team at his old school.
A fourth friend knows how to swim but says he's not super pro at it.
3. Playing Chess: The same friend who swims well also knows how to play chess, but he's not a champion. He likes to play for fun with buddies.
From the interview, we see that everyone in our class has special skills in different areas. Some are great at art stuff, and others are sporty. We also saw that some friends are just starting to try new things, which means we all have chances to learn more.
I want to say thanks to everyone who joined in and shared their talents. Let's keep finding and growing our own special gifts, making our class full of life and talent.
