Who does the housework at home It’s an interesting but important question. Dave has his own idea and answer. He says, “As I was a child, my mother believed in the importance of the housework. My sister Dee and I cleaned up the kitchen every night after dinner. Our parents usually planned some weekly tasks for us, such as sweeping and tidying. We must finish them on Saturdays. They expected us to make our beds and keep our bedrooms clean every week. Mum also found some seasonal (季节的) chores to give us, such as cutting grass, sweeping leaves, cleaning the room and so on.”
In fact, Dave didn’t agree with his mother. He always complained (抱怨) about the housework, but he did it. He still helps with housework now. His wife, Merry is very grateful to Dave’s mum. She has said to friends many times, “I’m lucky that Dave’s mum made him work around the house.”
Does that make Dave different I don’t think so. One new report shows that men’s work in the home is three times as much as that of forty years ago.
“Who does the housework ” is still a big question in many families today. In recent years, reports have shown wives usually do much more housework than husbands. A 2021 report showed 62 percent of Americans thought of sharing housework as the important point of the successful family. However, there were only 47 percent of people who had the same idea in 1990. In a family, sharing housework is before money and children. Also, sharing housework also sets an example for the children.

One of my least favorite chores is cleaning my bedroom, but I have to do it. If my bedroom is untidy, I find it hard to relax and impossible to do any work! My mom always says “a tidy home means a tidy mind”, and I think this is true. If everything is a mess, you just can’t think clearly.
Studies show that people are usually more successful if they work, study, or live in a clean and tidy environment. A study shows that many children with bad behavior (行为) come from messy houses. Children who grow up in dirty houses would probably be unhealthy and they fall sick more often too. This is why people with tidier homes are often healthier and more successful. My mom is a good example of this. She makes sure our home is always very clean and comfortable, so my sister and I hardly ever fall sick. Everyone loves her and she is very successful at her job in a bank.
I am not a naturally tidy person. I sometimes throw my clothes on the floor because I am too tired to put them away, and I often leave rubbish on my desk. It is not easy to keep things clean all the time, but I am trying to develop the habit of tidying up every day. Maybe one day I will be as tidy and successful as my mom! That’s my wish too.
11.What does the mother think a tidy home mean
12.What might cause children’s bad behavior according to the study
13.What environment makes the writer and his sister healthy
14.What kind of person does the writer wish to be
15.Is your bedroom tidy or messy What do you plan to do from now on

The Great Wall was a long wall to keep enemies (敌人) from the country. Nowadays it is regarded as a wonder of architecture (建筑). Millions of tourists come to visit it each year. Also, it is the most visited place for foreign leaders when they come to China.
Why is the Great Wall so inviting
The Great Wall has different parts and each one is very special. Jinshanling Great Wall in Hebei is the most beautiful section. In spring, it is in the middle of a white apricot blossom. During summertime, green plants circle the wall. In autumn, maple leaves paint a golden and red scene. And winter puts the great wall in a world of white snow.

There are many kinds of plants on the wall. Trees grow up from in between the stones. In some places, you have to climb the stones with both your hands and feet. Be careful when you visit the wild walls. You’d better not go there alone.
Have you heard about Meng Jiangnu
The most well-known traditional story of the Great Wall is Meng Jiangnu. Meng Jiangnu is a woman from the Qin Dynasty. She walks a long way to the Great Wall to find her husband. He is one of the people to build the wall. But she finds him dead. She starts to cry, and suddenly a section of the Great Wall falls down.
How long is the Great Wall
Traditionally, we call the Great Wall “a long wall of 10,000 li (5,000 kilometers)”. But the wall is actually 21,196.18 kilometers, according to China’s State Administration of Cultural Heritage.
