What Do You Feel Like Watching Today
While some people stick to only one kind of movie,I like to watch different kinds depends on how I feel that day.
When I'm down or tired, I prefer movies that can cheer me edies like men in black or cartoons like Kung Fu Panda have funny dialog and usually have a happy ending. The characters may not be perfect, but they try their best to solve their problems. After I watch them, my problems suddenly seem less serious and I feel much better again. Laughing for two hours is a good way to relax!
I don't watch dramas or documentaries when I'm sad or tired. Dramas like Titanic make me feel even sadder. Documentaries like March of the Penguins which provide plenty of information about a certain subject can be interesting, but when I'm tired I don't want to think too much. I don't mind action movies like Spider-Man when I'm too tired to think. I can just shut off my brain, sit back and enjoy watching an exciting superhero who always saves the world just in time.
Once in a while, I like to watch movies that are scary. They can be fun, but I'm too scared to watch them alone. I always bring a friend who isn't afraid of these kinds of movies, and it doesn't feel so scary anymore.

stick v. 粘贴; 将…刺入 (stuck, stuck)
stick to 意为“坚持；忠于；遵守”，本短语由“动词+介词”构成，后跟名词或相当于名词的词；后若跟动词，只能跟动名词形式。
1.While some people stick to only one kind of movie, I like to watch different kinds depending on how I feel that day.尽管有些人坚持只看一个类型的电影，而我喜欢根据我那天的心情去看不同类型的电影。
depend on 在此处意为“取决于”，其后可接名词、代词、动词-ing形式或从句①“人+depend on”意为“依赖；依靠”。 ②“物+depend on”意为“取决于”。
2.Dramas like Titanic make me feel even sadder.
像《泰坦尼克号》这样的剧让我觉得更难过。
make sb. do sth. 意为“让\使某人做某事”。其中make 用作使役动词，意为“使\让\叫……”。
make还可以用于“make+宾语+形容词（宾补）”结构中，意为“使某人（物）…”。
使役动词后面直接跟动词原形，表示“让、使……”。如：have;let;leave;keep;get.
e.g. I stick to what I said yesterday. 我坚持我昨天说的话。
e.g. Now we’ve made a decision, let’s stick to it.

shut off 意为“关闭；停止运转”，常用于关闭电器或切断煤气、水等。而turn off 关（自来水、电灯、收音机等）

shut up 关闭; 密封 shut in 监禁； 围住； 关在屋里
shut out 关在外面; 排斥shut away 把……藏起来； 隔离
4.I don’t mind action movies like Spider-Man when I’m too tired to think. 当我太累不能思考时，我不介意看像《蜘蛛侠》那样的动作片。
too … to…意为“太……而不能……”，too为副词，后跟形容词或副词，to为动词不定式符号，后跟动词原形。
注意： too….to…结构可以和so…that…(如此……以至于)句型转换。
too…to…结构可以与not… enough to…结构互换，但not 后面的形容词\副词是too 后形容词\副词的反义词。
5.They can be fun, but I’m too scared to watch them alone.
它们可能很有趣，但我太害怕了，不敢独自一人看。
alone:当作形容词时表示“单独的；独自的”，
当作副词表示“单独地； 独自地”，侧重说明独自一人，没有同伴，指客观状况。
用作形容词时，一般与be动词连用，在句中作表语；作副词修饰动词，放在动词后面作状语。
lonely:作形容词，指心灵上的孤独，侧重主观感受，可作定语或表语。用于描述地点时，意为“荒凉的”。
