call in 意为“召来；叫来”。call in是动副短语，当宾语为代词时，必须放在in之前。【拓展】 call back 回电话 call off 取消call up 打电话，选入；回想起call on 访问，探望 call out 叫喊 call for 叫……来；需要；去接 call off 放弃；取消；叫走

2.Neither medicine nor rest can help him.
药物和休息对他都无帮助。
neither ... nor ...“既不……也 不……；……和……都不”，其含义是否定的，可连接任意两个并列的成份,谓语动词的单复数采取“就近原则”。

【拓展】
采用就近原则的短语还有：either...or...(或者……或者)，not only...but also...(不但……而且)，there be...(有……)等。
“两者都”(肯定)用both … and…, 常连接任意两个并列成份，做主语时谓语动词用复数。如：Both my sister and my mother are teachers.
