Host: As MBTI test becomes popular, it is being used in different ways. Do you want to use MBTI in your life #MBTI
@Jason: The MBTI test can help people have a better understanding of their personality (个性). A greater self-understanding can be helpful in daily life and for interpersonal communication (交流), for example, choosing a career or getting along with others.
@Lily: I took the test once. I don’t want to use it in my life. It makes me feel like it’s limiting (限制) how people can be. Everyone is different, and it’s not fair to put people into simple groups.
@George: I like using MBTI to help me find friends, who share similar personalities quickly. But that should not be the only tool. Or it could make us lose possible good friends who have different MBTI types.
@Luna: I think it could be a good tool. When I prepared my speech to be President of the Student Union in college, it helped me quickly explain my personality. That saved me time learning about myself and it also let others know me better.

①When you go to the park, you might see many older people aren’t reading paper books but listening to audiobooks (有声书). Audiobooks have become quite popular these days. Why are more and more people choosing audiobooks over traditional books Is listening to an audiobook just as good as reading a book
②Reading needs all our focus (注意力) on the words in a book, and we also need to find time and a place to sit down and read. However, you can listen to audiobooks anytime and anywhere you like, and it gives your eyes a rest, too.
③But the big question is, do we get information from audiobooks as effectively (有效地) as we do from paper books Researchers did a research to find the answer. They asked people in group one to listen to audiobook while people in group two read the same paper book. It turned out that people in the first group remembered as much information as the second group.
④Another study in the Journal of Neuroscience also shows the same result. In the study, researchers scanned (扫描) people’s brains when they listened to and read books. The result showed that listening to audiobooks activates almost the same parts of the brain as reading does.
⑤However, some people still believe that they learn better from reading paper books. One reason might be that when we listen to audiobooks, we are often multitasking (处理多个任务). “If you’re trying to learn while doing two things, you’re not going to learn as well,” Daniel Willingham, a professor of psychology at the University of Virginia, told The New York Times.
19.Why do people like listening to audiobooks according to Paragraph 2
A.Because they can not see the words clearly on the paper books.
B.Because they don’t have time to choose books in a bookstore.
C.Because they can listen to them anytime and anywhere they like.
D.Because they hardly have any time to read because of hard work.

A.We need to find time and a place to listen to audio books.
B.People get less information from audio books than paper books.
C.In the research, people need to read and listen to books at the same time.
D.Researchers learned how people’s brains work when they listen to and read books.
21.Why does the writer write this passage
A.To show the good points of listening to audio books.
B.To tell us the differences between audiobooks and paper books.
C.To introduce a new way of reading—listening to audio books.
D.To discuss if listening to audio books is as good as reading paper books.

Every time a new year comes around, people set out to make New Year’s resolutions. But where did this tradition come from
Around 4,000 years ago in Babylon, people held celebrations each year to welcome the coming of a new year. The calendar was different back then. The Babylonians started the new year in late March during the first new moon after the spring equinox (春分). The events were known as the Akitu festival. They celebrated the rebirth of the sun god. Babylonians made promises to get on the right side of all of their gods. They felt this would help them start the new year with better luck. This is how the tradition started.
Resolutions went on with the Romans. When the early Roman calendar didn’t go with Earth’s rotation (旋转) around the sun, Julius Caesar decided to make a change. He talked to the best experts of his time and used the Julian calendar. It is similar to our Gregorian calendar. Caesar set January 1st as the first day of the year to show respect (尊重) to Janus, the god of new beginnings.
To this day, the traditions of the Babylonians and Romans still go on around the world. People all over the world make resolutions at the beginning of a year. However, not many people keep the resolutions they make. Google started a Resolution Map in 2013 to see how many people keep their resolutions. It turned out that only eight percent of people were successful in keeping them. Making a resolution is all in one day’s work, but it seems quite difficult for us to keep it and make it come true.

B.The reasons for making New Year’s resolutions.
C.The celebrations for the coming of a new year.
D.The history of the tradition of making resolutions.
26.What may the passage talk about next
A.How people make their resolutions. B.Why people can’t keep their resolutions.
C.What kinds of resolutions people will make. D.Why people start to make New Year’s resolutions.
