For the past century, people of all ages have sung a four-line tune to mark their loved ones' birthdays. Happy Birthday to You was described by Guinness World Records as the most frequently sung English-language song. But few know the names behind it: Mildred Jane Hill and Patty Smith Hill.

During the Jarramplas Festival, one of the most interesting traditions of the Extremadura region in western Spain, tons of turnips (大头菜) are thrown at a person dressed in armored (有装甲的) clothing to symbolize evil.

It is believed that the festival, which dates back to the Middle Ages, has its origin in how cattle thieves (贼) in the region were punished by having vegetables and fruits thrown at them by the people. The tradition is based on the belief that it drives away evil and thieves, and jarramplas, who wear the armored clothing, are a symbol of evil. The person wearing the armored clothing walks around the town center playing the drum (鼓), while hundreds of people throw turnips at him.
