The crew, consisting of commander Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui, and Wang Jie, had been in orbit for 204 days. Upon landing, support teams quickly reached the site. When I first set foot on Mexican soil, I spoke Spanish well. So when I asked a local ice-cream seller for an ice-cream, and he said "ahorita", which directly translates to "right now", I took him at his word, believing that its arrival was in no time.
I sat near his shop and waited. Half an hour passed and still no ice-cream arrived, so I asked again about it. "Ahorita," he told me again. His face was a mix of confusion (困惑) and maybe even embarrassment.
I was torn. Waiting longer wasn't pleasant, but I felt it was impolite to walk away, especially if the ice-cream was now being delivered just for me. But finally, after waiting too long, I made a rush for the nearest bus to take me home. As I left, I signaled at my wrist and shrugged to the ice-cream seller. Obviously, I couldn't wait any longer and it really wasn't my fault. His face was, once again, one of total confusion.
This experience slowly disappeared from my memory until years later when I came back to live in Mexico. I discovered that understanding "ahorita" took not a fluency (娴熟) in the language, but rather a fluency in the culture. When someone from Mexico says "ahorita", it should almost never be taken literally (照字面地), its meaning changes greatly with context. As a language expert told me, "Ahorita could mean tomorrow, in an hour, within five years or never." It is even used as a polite way of saying "no, thanks" when refusing an offer.
Since I moved to Mexico, my attitude towards time has changed greatly. I don't worry so much about being late. I am generally still on time for appointments, but when I'm not, I don't panic. Ironically (讽刺的是), it would seem that "Ahorita Time" has actually allowed me to live far more in the "right now" than I ever did before.
23. Why did the author believe that his ice-cream would be ready quickly
A. Because the seller told him that it would be served soon.
B. Because he was confident of the direct translation of “ahorita”.
C. Because the ice-cream shop was not busy.
D. Because he asked about it again and the seller answered the same.
24. What does the underlined word "torn" mean in the passage
A. Tired. B. Too hungry to move.
C. Unable to decide. D. Thirsty.
25. What should be paid attention to when understanding "ahorita"
A. A fluency in the culture.
B. A fluency in the language.
C. Translating it literally.
D. Its unchangeable meaning.
26. Which is the best title of the passage
A. The Importance of Understanding Mexican People
B. The Different Meanings of "Ahorita"
C. How Interesting Spanish Is
D. The Confusing Way Mexicans Tell Time

No matter how you do it, booking (预订) holidays can be a headache. It used to require a visit to a travel agent (代理人). Later, online travel agents appeared, allowing people to plan trips from the comfort of their own homes. With the help of AI, now they can easily deal with the brainwork, too. For example, Expedia has introduced Romie—“an AI-powered travel buddy”. And another company, , has brought out TripGenie.
Many people expect AI to free them from boring work. This may explain why AI trip planners are drawing attention. They’re perfect for those who go mad when booking holidays.
But are these AI booking agents reliable (可靠的) Some have tried them out. When a couple asked TripGenie to find a romantic hotel in Paris, its top suggestion was by the airport. “Well, perhaps the AI agent is still in its early days,” they concluded.
Tools like TripGenie are facing competition from AI companies, too. OpenAI, for example, is testing its Operator. The AI bot is supposed to “mimic a human’s use of the Web”. When asked about that Paris trip, it suggests places with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Some researchers think OpenAI might soon disrupt the online travel agents’ market.
One problem with AI booking agents is that they make mistakes. Air Canada got in trouble after its chatbot wrongly promised a user a discount (折扣). Could AI agents be fooled into booking a more expensive flight Would anyone feel safe giving his or her credit card information to an AI agent then
AI agents may also have difficulty understanding the variety of people’s tastes. Someone may think it’s not romantic to choose a metal tower at all. One couple—the groom Icelandic and the bride French—recently got married on a flight between their countries. For them, a hotel room by Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport might have suited them better.
27.Why are AI trip planners becoming popular
A.Because they never make mistakes.
B.Because they are cheaper than human agents.
C.Because they understand personal tastes well.
D.Because they can help people avoid boring work.
28.How does the writer show us whether AI booking agents are reliable
A.By listing numbers. B.By giving an example.
C.By asking questions. D.By having a comparison.
29.What can we infer from Paragraphs 5 and 6
A.AI agents always offer a discount.
B.AI agents never book flights with higher prices.
C.AI agents can make users’ credit card information safe.
D.AI agents have problems meeting different people’s tastes.
30.What can be the best title of the passage
A.What can AI do for us B.Is AI a good choice to book holidays
C.How does AI help people book holidays D.Why is AI popular with people today

阅读短文,根据要求完成下面小题。
The speed and convenience of modern travel make the faraway countries be reached quickly and easily. Even though they now seem closer, they may still be different from your home country. So it is important to change your behavior so that you don’t insult or offend (冒犯) the local people. The following are some basic rules that will make communication easier, and your trip more enjoyable.
First, never raise your voice in order to make yourself understood. If you don’t know the word for something in the local language, try to draw a picture or point to an object. Before you travel, you can also learn some basic words or phrases of the local language, such as words for please, thank you, and may I, as well as basic greetings.
Second, consider the main religion of the country you plan to visit and read about taboos (禁忌) related to clothing. You can bring some clothes such as shirts or T-shirts that cover your shoulders, and long trousers.
Avoid topics that you think may be sensitive (敏感的). If a topic is sensitive in your own culture, it will likely be the same in other cultures. Feel free to show interest in the history and customs of the place that you are visiting, but don’t ask too many questions about why things are done in a certain way. You may offend the local people.
Keep in mind that in many cultures, showing affection (情感) in public is considered taboo. Kissing on the street or in public is unacceptable behavior and should be avoided. If you are unsure of how to behave, watch the local people and copy them.
Finally, if you wish to take a gift, do some researches. The idea of the perfect gift is different greatly from country to country, and one of the easiest ways to offend someone is to give the wrong gift.
