Also, when class was over, he would instantly “shut up”.In the 1980s, in most English classes, teachers did most of the speaking, while students mostly only listened. But Chen encouraged students to speak and practice more. Outside of class, Chen still tried his best to popularize English among common people. Before that, English teaching goals from primary to university were not connected. But the standards changed the situation, making English education work like “one package”(1999年,陈教授带领专家制定了英语课程标准。 故选A项。 根据第四段的句子“Outside of class, Chen still tried his best to popularize English among common people. But today, things stand differently.According to a survey by Tesco Mobile, a UK company, the “dream job” of young people aged between 16 and 25 in the UK is a video blogger, or “vlogger”. The survey, carried out among 1,002 people, found that as much as 40 percent of them put the vlogger as their number one choice on a list of ideal careers. This change is undoubtedly as a result of the Internet and social media. They have made it so much easier to reach audience of the world, without having to enter a career in show business in the traditional way.In the past, the biggest stars were trained by the Hollywood studios. Now, anyone with a camera can become a star. Vloggers are the big stars of today because they are normal people communicating with their fans about everyday lives. However, what people see is only the bright side of being a vlogger and they fail to notice the fact that only those who are successful earn fame and money. For every success there are hundreds of others who never get off the starting line. There are the dreams that come true and the dreams that remain dreams forever.Although being vloggers is popular, some young people choose to follow careers that don’t necessarily earn them fame, but allow them to make good use of the Internet to share their hobbies. Young Israeli David Leshaw, for example, runs a business called the Finishers Club. It’s an online platform for runners to keep a record of their races. His job allows him to express his enthusiasm, and is always a learning experience. And that’s enough for him.28. Why do more and more young Britons choose to be vloggers A. Because vloggers can earn little fame and money on the Internet.B. Because there is too much competition in the traditional show business.C. Because the Internet makes it convenient to become vloggers.D. Because anyone with a camera will surely become a star.29. What can we infer from the fifth paragraph A. Only a few vloggers can be successful.B. A vlogger cannot earn fame or money.C. People seldom see the bright side of being a vlogger.D. Dreams will always remain to be dreams.30. What do young people like David do on the Internet A. Learn from others. B. Become an online hit.C. Hold running races. D. Mix jobs with hobbies.31. What is the passage mainly about A. Most Britons choose to be vloggers as their jobs now.B. The Internet is influencing young Britons’career choice.C. The Internet is taking the place of traditional studios.D. Young Britons cannot find jobs without the Internet.【答案】28. C 29. A 30. D 31. 根据文章第五段中“For every success there are hundreds of others who never get off the starting line. 根据文章最后一段中“Young Israeli David Leshaw, for example, runs a business called the Finishers Club. It’s an online platform for runners to keep a record of their races. His job allows him to express his enthusiasm, and is always a learning experience. And that’s enough for him. 和第三段中“This change is undoubtedly as a result of the Internet and social media. DThree minutes of looking at red light once a week may help our eyesight, new research suggests. The findings show that red light might be a cheap and easy treatment for declines (衰退) in color vision (视力) as we get older.Last year, researchers from University College London did a study on red light therapy (疗法). 24 healthy volunteers, aged between 28 and 72, were asked to look at red light for three minutes every day for two weeks. Tests later found that the eyesight of people over the age of 40 improved. To test the possible weak points of their therapy, they did a new study this year. Instead of using the light every day, they used it once a week. The new study included 20 volunteers, aged between 34 and 70,all with healthy vision. Some received red light therapy in the morning, and others received it in the afternoon. They were then tested on their color vision up to a week later. On the whole, those who got the treatment in the morning showed a 17% improvement in their color vision, even a week later. Those who got the treatment in the afternoon did not have any improvement.“We’ve found that one single treatment in the morning can greatly improve declining vision.” said lead author Glen Jeffrey. The findings do support their earlier work, and they might make the treatment more practicable, since a once-weekly treatment is easier to stick to than a daily one. But the team’s promising results are still drawn on small numbers of healthy volunteers Larger studies would be needed to show the help of red light therapy.“In the near future, a once-a-week three-minute treatment could be done while making a coffee or listening to a song, and such a simple thing could change eye care and vision around the world,” Jeffrey said.Given its low cost (as little as $15) per machine, and simplicity, the team is excited about the future of their therapy.32. What plays a key role in red light treatment A. The time of day for treatment B. The machine used in the treatment.C. The time that one treatment lasts. D. The number of treatments received.33. What makes it necessary to improve the study A. The age of the volunteers. B. The number of the volunteers.C. The sex of the volunteers. D. The poor vision of the volunteers.34. What is Jeffrey’s attitude towards the future of the therapy A. Unclear. B. Doubtful. C. Serious. D. Hopeful.35. What is the purpose of this text A. To state the importance of eye care.B. To explain the value of deep red light.C. To introduce a way to fight vision decline.D. To encourage people to protect their eyesight.【答案】32. A 33. B 34. D 35. 根据第三段“The new study included 20 volunteers, aged between 34 and 70, all with healthy vision. Some received red light therapy in the morning, and others received it in the afternoon. They were then tested on their color vision up to a week later.(这项新研究包括20名年龄在34岁到70岁之间的志愿者,他们都有健康的视力。 然后在一周后测试他们的色觉)”以及第四段“On the whole, those who got the treatment in the morning showed a 17% improvement in their color vision, even a week later. Those who got the treatment in the afternoon did not have any improvement.(总的来说,那些在早上接受治疗的人,即使在一周后,他们的色觉也提高了17%。 故选A。 根据第六段“But the team’s promising results are still drawn on small numbers of healthy volunteers. Larger studies would be needed to show the benefits of red light therapy.(但该团队的研究结果仍依赖于小部分健康志愿者。 根据倒数第二段““In the near future, a once-a-week three-minute exposure to deep red light could be done while making a coffee or listening to a song, and such a simple thing could change eye care and vision around the world,” Jeffrey said.(Jeffrey说道:“在不久的将来,每周一次三分钟的深红光治疗可以在煮咖啡或听歌曲时完成,这样简单的事情可以改变全世界的眼睛保健和视力。”)” 根据第一段“The findings show that red light might be a cheap and easy treatment for declines in color vision as we get older.(研究结果表明,随着年龄的增长,红光可能是一种廉价而简单的治疗色觉下降的方法。)” Positive Effects of YogaSometimes it’s the simplest daily practice that can have the biggest influence on your health, and yoga is proof of that. But as time went by, she got more and more tired of Coco’s nagging. She often thought, “Mom talks too much. I wish I could go to a university in another city. That way, she won’t nag me all the time.”Two years later, Alice’s dream came true. She was admitted to a university far away from home. However, one month before she left, Coco started nagging again, this time about her college life.“Remember to wash your clothes regularly in college. Study hard but also take care of your health,” Coco would repeat every day. Alice felt even more annoyed. When the day came for her to leave home, she was very happy, thinking she would finally be free from her mom’s nagging. But things didn’t go as Alice expected at college. She picked up her phone to call Coco. As soon as Coco answered, she said softly, “Mom, I miss your nagging. My roommates are difficult to get along with, and I don’t know how to manage my time.” Coco listened patiently and gave gentle advice: “Try talking to your roommates nicely about your sleep schedule, and also, join a club to make friends.” She also reminded Alice to eat healthy and get enough sleep. Alice nodded repeatedly, tears welling up in her eyes. For the first time, she felt the warmth of her mom’s words.Alice felt much better after talking to her mom on the phone. She followed Coco’s suggestions. She had a calm chat with her roommates, and they agreed to respect each other’s habits to create a more harmonious atmosphere. She also joined a book club, where she met some like-minded classmates. Gradually, she no longer felt like a stranger in the new city. From then on, whenever she faced troubles, she’d call her mom, no longer feeling annoyed by the nagging. Instead, she knew it was the most precious gift her mom could give — a love that followed her, even from far away.【解析】【导语】本文以人物为线索展开,讲述了高中生爱丽丝厌烦母亲常年的唠叨,渴望远离家去外地上大学。 词汇激活行为类①轻声说:say softly/whisper/speak gently②想念:miss/long for③面对:face/confront/come across情绪类①热泪盈眶:tears welling up in her eyes/tears filling her eyes②感觉像个局外人:feel like a stranger/feel out of place③恼怒的:annoyed/irritated【点睛】【高分句型1】 Alice nodded repeatedly, tears welling up in her eyes. In 1950, he started teaching at Beijing Foreign Studies University. At the university, Chen was known for his nickname of “Three UP Professor”, since he always insisted on “standing up” and “speaking up” when teaching. Also, when class was over, he would instantly “shut up”.In the 1980s, in most English classes, teachers did most of the speaking, while students mostly only listened. But Chen encouraged students to speak and practice more. Outside of class, Chen still tried his best to popularize English among common people. In 1981, he took part in the TV program Follow Me (《跟我学》) and taught people English in a fun way, which started a craze for learning English. In 1999, Chen led experts to develop English curriculum standards Before that, English teaching goals from primary to university were not connected. But the standards changed the situation, making English education work like “one package”.To help students learn English more effectively, Chen advised providing suitable English-learning material for students at different levels. “I have been a teacher all my life, and I want to be an English teacher again in my next life.” Chen said.“I think there is no more noble profession than to teach and make students useful to the people.”24. Young Britons cannot find jobs without the Internet.DThree minutes of looking at red light once a week may help our eyesight, new research suggests. To encourage people to protect their eyesight. Positive Effects of YogaSometimes it’s the simplest daily practice that can have the biggest influence on your health, and yoga is proof of that. Every day, her mom Coco would nag (唠叨) her a lot, and this had lasted for years. In the morning, before Alice went to school, Coco would stand by the door and say, “Alice, don’t use your phone when the teacher is talking.” When Alice came back home after school, Coco would keep asking, “Did you make any new friends at school Getting along well with your classmates is really important.” Sometimes, she would also say, “Tell me something interesting that happened at school today.”At first, Alice tried to listen patiently. One roommate liked to stay up late watching movies, and the other often left her things everywhere. Alice didn’t know how to get along with them. Besides, she had no idea how to manage her spare time meaningfully. She didn’t have many friends there. Her heart was brimming with a feeling of being alone. One evening, Alice found herself missing mom’s words she used to hate.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Alice felt much better after talking to her mom on the phone.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 展开更多......
