Have you ever wondered why the weather changes throughout the year Well, the answer is the changing seasons on Earth. Earth experiences four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. It happens because of the way the Earth moves around the Sun.
First, let’s understand how the Earth moves. The Earth goes around the Sun in an elliptical orbit (椭圆轨道). It takes about 365 and a quarter days for the Earth to complete one orbit around the Sun. We call this length of time a year.
Second, the Earth is tilted (倾斜) on its axis (轴). The axis is an imaginary (假想的) line. It runs from the North Pole to the South Pole. This tilt causes the changing seasons. During different times of the year, the Earth is tilted towards or away from the Sun. When the North Pole is tilted towards the Sun, it is summer in the Northern Hemisphere (北半球). At the same time, the South Pole is tilted away from the Sun, so it is winter in the Southern Hemisphere. This is why when it’s summer in China, it’s winter in Australia.
The tilt of the Earth’s axis doesn’t change as the Earth orbits the Sun. This means that the cycle (循环) repeats every year. So, every year, we can expect spring, summer, autumn and winter to come and go. Now that you know why Earth has seasons, you can enjoy the beauty of each season and the different activities they bring. Whether it is building snowmen in winter or swimming in the pool in summer, each season has something special to offer.

44 The hottest and the coldest parts of the world usually have only two seasons. It is hot in places close to the equator. These places are called the tropics (热带地区) . Instead of our four seasons, many parts of the tropics have a rainy season and a dry season. 45 Around the North and South Poles, there are only two seasons, too: a very, very cold winter and a somewhat less cold summer.

People have cut down the forests so it’s hard for orangutans to find wild fruit they feed on. People also kill many orangutans. So many baby orangutans do not have mums to teach them what they need to know.
That’s why an animal organization (组织) called Four Paws built schools for orangutans. The schools teach baby orangutans how to live in the wild.
Orangutans go to different schools. Usually the youngest babies go to the Nursery (育儿所). People feed them and look after them all day long. When the orangutans are 2, they go to Baby School. They learn how to climb trees and look for food. When they turn 4 years old, they go to Forest School. They stay in the forest at night. Now they can do more without help from people.
After a few years, the orangutans have learned everything they need to know. People take them into the forest and let them go.

Protect the natural world
Good morning, everyone! Today I am very happy to be here to give a talk about protecting the natural world.
The natural world belongs to all of us. I think everybody should take on the responsibility of environmental protection. There are many environmental problems nowadays. For example, people cut down trees for production. Rubbish is often thrown into rivers and lakes, and many of them are polluted. Luckily, there are many things we can do to protect the natural world. We should sort the rubbish into different groups so that it can be reused and recycled better. Besides, we should learn to save energy, such as not leaving taps running all the time.
Let’s take action to save our world together!
That’s all. Thanks for your listening.
