However, I was not trained as a chef (厨师). But I was lucky. Many famous chefs were kind enough to share their cooking secrets with me. They saw something in me: a fearless middle-aged woman. My cooking skills improved a lot and my business started to pick up. I gained back my focus and self-respect in the kitchen in Hong Kong.

Jim, a successful businessman, told the experience of his childhood when he was 12. His parents died. He was alone and didn’t get on well with others. People usually laughed at him. No one showed kindness to him.
His only friend was a dog named Tiger. He gave his dog enough to eat and drink, but sometimes he was not polite to it. He didn’t know that an unkind word sometimes could cut one’s heart like a knife.
One day, as he walked down the street, a young lady was walking in front of him. Suddenly, one of her bags dropped from her arms. As she stopped to pick it up, she dropped the other bags. He came to help her. “Thank you, dear! You are a nice little boy!” she said kindly, smiling.
A special feeling came to him. These were the first kind words he had ever heard. He watched her until she went far away, and then he whistled to his dog and went directly to the river nearby.
“Thank you, dear! You are a nice little boy!” he repeated the woman’s words. Then, in a low voice, he said to his dog. “You are a nice little dog!” Tiger raised its ears as if it understood.
“Uhum! Even a dog likes it!” he said, “Well, Tiger, I won’t say unkind words to you anymore.” Tiger waved its tail happily.
The boy thought and thought. Finally, he looked at himself in the river. He saw nothing but a dirty boy. He washed his face carefully. Again, he looked. He saw a clean, nice boy. He was amazed. From then on, he had a new life.

It might be fun to use your smartphone, but be careful. Too much screen time may be harmful to your health.
First, it is bad for your eyes. A researcher called Sarah Hinkley says the problem comes from the blue light that the screen gives out. Looking at a smartphone for a long time can cause eye strain (劳损), headaches and dry eyes. So it is a good idea to take a break every 15 minutes when you are working at a computer or using a smartphone.
Second, screen use can do harm to children’s brains. A new study shows that using screens too much can affect (影响) how children’s brains grow. If children use screens for more than one hour a day, they might have lower levels of white matter in their brains. White matter is a key to the development of language and reading skills. So it is wise to cut down the time of children using all kinds of screens.
Third, using screens too much will affect your sleep. According to a study, about 95% of the people between the ages of 13 and 64 use electronics before bed, especially the young people under 20. Doctors say that the light from those electronics at night may make you excited before you go to bed. Then it’s hard for you to get enough sleep. So you’d better turn off smartphones, TVs, and all other screens an hour before your bedtime.
To keep healthy, doctors and researchers strongly advise that you shouldn’t use screens for long hours.

Chinese noodles have a long history. Trey were first mentioned in the Eastern Han Dynasty (朝代), over 1, 900 years ago. At that time, noodles were called “cakes”. They were “cakes” that were boiled in water.

Japanese noodles were first called “Dragon Noodles”, meaning food eaten by the Chinese—the descendants (后代) of the Dragon.

Yi Noodles are made in both southern and northern China, but Fujian and Jiangxi Provinces are most famous for making Yi Noodles. Yi Noodles can be served dry or with soup. I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly is a nice song by R. Kelly. This song tells that confidence is very important. When a person has confidence, he will believe in himself. He believes that he can do it and will succeed. And this also gives him courage to try new things. Dreams and confidence can keep us going on in the face of difficulties. If you believe you can fly, then you really fly someday.
In my opinion, I think we will never give up whenever we meet with any difficulties. We should remember that confidence is the way to success.
