The year 2025 is the 120th birthday of Chinese movies. At the 38th Golden Rooster Awards in Xiamen on November 15, Yi Yangqianxi made history. He won the Best Actor award for his role in the movie Big World. He was only 24 years and 11 months old, making him the first actor born after the year 2000 to win this prize.
In the movie, Yi played a teenager named Liu Chunhe who has cerebral palsy (脑瘫). This role was very different from his past characters. He worked very hard to show the boy's feelings and thoughts. The judges said his acting was "powerful and full of true emotion". This was the fourth time Yi was nominated for this award.
