Chinese painting is one of the oldest art forms in the world. Painting in the traditional style is famous today in Chinese as Guohua. It is common for Chinese painting to leave a large empty space on paper, which is called “Liu Bai”. As for reasons, maybe painters think it can give viewers (观众) enough space to imagine.
