William Shakespeare (1564-1616) was an English playwright, poet and actor, and is widely considered the greatest writer in the English language. As well as poetry, he wrote 39 plays that have continually been performed around the world for over 400 years. They are classified as tragedies, comedies or histories. His influence on the English language is perhaps greater than any other writer, through introducing new words and phrases (over 1,700), but also by helping to standardize(规范) grammar and spelling, as his printed works spread and became popular.

Florence Nightingale (1820-1910) was an English social reformer who is considered the founder of modern nursing. She trained nurses during the Crimean(克里米亚) War (1853-1856) where she significantly reduced death rates by raising nursing standards, for example by improved hygiene(卫生) and cleanliness in hospitals. She is also known as “The Lady with the Lamp” from when she would visit injured soldiers at night to check on them.

1. When/ What time区别:
表示什么时候,具体时间(钟点) 两者都可用。
年份,月份,日期等非钟点性时间只能用when不能用 what time

2. How much/ How many对数量提问时的区别:
—How many dancing classes do you have every week 你每周有多少节舞蹈课?
—I have two. 我有两节。

—A little. 一点点。
how many提问可数名词的量,后面接可数名词的复数形式;how much提问不可数名词的量,后面接不可数名词。
—How many PE classes do you have every week —I have two.
—How much milk do you need —A little.
How much用来询问事物的价格,意思为“多少钱”.
(1) 询问单数物品:
—How much is the/this + 单数名词 —It’s + 数额.
eg. — How much is the red T-shirt 这件红色的T恤衫多少钱

(2) 询问复数物品:
—How much are the / these / those + 复数名词 —They’re + 数额.

词性:形容词性限定词(adjectival determiner)
作用:强调 “属于某人自己的”,必须放在形容词性物主代词(my/your/our/their 等)之后,名词之前。
搭配结构:物主代词 + own + 名词
例句拓展:She has her own car.(她有自己的车。→ 强调车是她本人的,不是借的或共享的)
They want to live in their own house.(他们想住在自己的房子里。)
对比:We celebrate our birthdays.(我们庆祝我们的生日。→ 无强调,仅陈述事实)

词性:及物动词(vt.)
